U.S. Men's National Soccer (Official Thread)

Starting XI (ussoccer twitter):

1-Howard; 2-Spector, 15-DeMerit, 3-Bocanegra, 13-Bornstein; 22-Holden, 14-Torres, 4-Bradley, 10-Donovan; 12-Altidore, 19- Findley.

Love Holden and Torres in the lineup. Findley is one to watch up top, he's looking to make a case for a forward spot (especially if Davies doesn't make it back). He's shown some skill for Real Salt Lake, but not sure about his international ability.

This looks like a pretty good squad. Hopeful the US can be competitive and get a draw, or sneak out a win.

It's a shame they're so thin at the back. I wish the MNT could afford to bench guys who make stupid, lazy plays like that or leave them off the roster altogether.
Good point.

LB is very very bare. Seems like it's Bornstein's to lose (at least against speedy right mids) or it goes to Boconegra (with DeMerit and Onyewu in middle). I give a :shake: to both of those.

Spector at right back, with Cherundolo backing him up and the middle (Onyewu, Boca, DeMerit) are pretty good. Left back, not so much.

Donovan doesn't seem to be involving himself too much, either.

Findley for Johnson at the half, definitely. Findley is not good enough.

I have to head out, so it's DVR for the rest of this game.
