This is what it feels like to me too. Some quality players but not making the plays they need to make, especially on the defensive side of the ball. The '04 team started putting it together at the end of the year and ended on a high note beating scUM and Oklahoma St in a bowl game... I'd take that this year.

What should be a good team playing like shit and still winning isn't a cause for celebration.

I'll take a W over a L anyday too, but I am definitely not celebrating.

havent been on the boards in a while glad to be back, here is my take on the buckeyes. Like what Ive been seeing out of R. Smith, playing big of late, if he can keep it up and with Hyde coming back id like to see more of Hall as a scat-back. I know with a whole new offense coming in we are going to have some growing pains, but they need to get with it quick. Defense Defense Defense, where have you been. I dont know what the problem is, we have the talent at defense thats not the question. I think we need to start blitzing more havent seen much presser on the qb at all in the first 4 games. Simon has been non existent in any of the games. Sick of seeing rush 4 and everyone else is in a zone defense. Tackleing has been horrific. Honestly the talent across the board is there, love the coaching staff, just something has to give, and when it does look out....

I guess we have different memories. I remember the 2002 team kicking the crap out of Texas Tech and also solidly beating a ranked WSU team. They had one rough game vs. UC, and that was on the road. The current team has struggled 2 weeks in a row at home, and both those teams were nothing special. In fact, one of them is downright atrocious.
