tOSU vs. Louisiana-Monroe, Friday 12/27 @ 7p ET, BTN

This should be the end of the cupcakes

Breaking down the Warhawks: Louisiana Monroe enters the Ohio State game on a three-game losing streak, most recently dropping an 83-61 decision to Louisiana Tech on Sunday … This is the second game the Warhawks will make against a top-five opponent. The first came Nov. 8 when Louisiana Monroe lost its season opener at Kansas 80-63 … The last time ULM knocked off a ranked opponent was in December of 1992 – an 87-78 win over then-No. 9 Arkansas … The only time ULM beat a Big Ten team was in 2007 when it beat Iowa in overtime, 72-67 … The Warhawks lead the Sun Belt in rebound margin (+4.7 per game), assists (14.9 per game) and steals (8.3 per game) … Senior Amos Olatayo leads the Warhawks in scoring with 15.6 points per game, and he has scored double figures in 14 of the last 15 games dating back to last season … ULM has had at leas two scorers reach double figures in all of their games this season.

The boys needed a game like this in my opinion. A complete domination where they didnt go into a negative lull. LAMO is not good at all but with MSU coming up, it was a good confidence builder without any stress.

They looked good last night, like how they distributed the ball when ULM went into the zome. Amir had a pretty good game, had a couple of oops, but solid. Loved that little spin move he made in the 2nd half. I hope that Ross keeps up production like this through the year. If he a Smith can get on a consistent roll on O, this team could be scary good.

I had to do a double-take when I looked @ the box score. I was surprised as well to see how little minutes the starters got for ULM. It was funny that when the fouls started mounting for them JJ made the remark on the telecast that they didn't have a very deep bench. Well, it showed. Guess their coach would rather lose badly with guys giving effort than losing badly with his starters going through the motions.

Well, the ULM starters didn't do well at the start of the first half, falling behind 12-0 to start and ULM was down 27-7 with 8 to go in the first half. Clearly they were not in the game either way. I guess this game is as good as any to send a message to your team.
