Urban F. Meyer (Former OSU, CFB and NFL coach)

Report: Most Jaguars Players Were 'Just Fine' with Urban Meyer Before Firing

Per Hallie Grossman and Michael DiRocco of ESPN.com, one source close to the team said that most players "felt just fine" about Meyer.

"He hadn't, at least by the last weekend before his dismissal, lost the locker room, the source said," Grossman and DiRocco wrote.

So this Adam Wells read the entire critical ESPN article and decided that was the big takeaway? “Most biglaw firm typists were just fine with Richard McDictation before his firing.”

Until a few days before his firing, one source close to the team maintained that while there were players who didn't like Meyer, most of the team felt just fine about him. He hadn't, at least by the last weekend before his dismissal, lost the locker room, the source said.

A ringing endorsement? Perhaps not. But a looming fiasco? He said it wasn't that, either.

Sources: Jacksonville Jaguars say former coach Urban Meyer fired for cause, don't intend to pay rest of contract

The Jacksonville Jaguars fired former coach Urban Meyer for cause, sources told ESPN on Saturday, with the intention of not paying him the remaining four years of his contract.

A source within the organization said the Jaguars' reasons for withholding the remaining guarantees are not tied to one specific incident -- but rather a cumulation of instances that Jacksonville's officials believe justified the firing.

It is not unusual for situations like these -- involving negated guarantees -- to later be negotiated by the two sides to avoid a prolonged legal situation. It will be up to the lawyers involved in any negotiation between the Jaguars and Meyer to try to figure out if they can resolve the situation.

Yes, there will be lawyers.

However, can you imagine a world without lawyers?

The dude truly hates to fucking lose. Obviously the Jags situation brought out the worst in him and we've all got that gene in us somewhere. Hope he picks himself up and is better in his next iteration of himself.

The thing I don’t understand that they are saying is that he is fired with cause due to a number of separate incidents, Did they ever discipline him for any of these incidents prior to termination? If they were egregious enough to contribute to the firing you would think they would have at least some sort of record of even a small disciplinary action being taken.

Well, they may have deleted it from their cell phones, in which case that is fine.
