Does anybody else think the post Urban made was a bit much? As in too much "I paid a lawyer $1k to type this up" vs him just posting what was said in summary form: "I was not, and never would be suspended for covering up DV since I did not, and would never, do so. I was suspended due to my improper passing on Zach being a knucklehead." And having said that, it shouldn't have come out from Urban. It should have come out from Drake.

It does get laid on a little thick. I'm sure it's grating to hear literally every pundit, moron and dipshit on the internet parrot the same inaccurate talking points and it probably felt good to take 3 of the most misunderstood or misstated points and point out exactly what was found.

But as I'm sure he tells his players, sometimes you have to block out the morons dipshits and pundits and just play the game. You can't let these people get in your head or you're fighting battles all the time rather than doing your job. Ok fine, he's suspended right now and if this is it, so be it.

But what if it isn't? What if, in 3 weeks, the narrative is more or less UFM beat Courtney Smith and then bought toys for Zack Smith to use on Tom Herman in a strip club, does he respond then?

It should have come from the OSU PR department. The Media is taking their reported findings and misrepresenting everything about them.

I love it... I love it that they come to watch us in hopes that theyll upset us, I love that we are people's night games, I love that espn goes to Indiana because its the bucks, I love it that fans think we cheat, I love how they cheer loud for making us punt, and I fucking love when their stadiums are empty in the 4th quarter and all you hear is OH-IO.

I LOVE BEING HATED. LOVE IT.

I’m no PR person, especially so I’ve been told on here, but I will say I don’t recall seeing an official press release outside of the press conference. To me they could’ve clarified/emphasized key talking points. sEcSPiN is always good at putting those on the screen and just like this it would end up on Twatter and Phasebook.

That would have potentially eliminated the Urban posts. I do understand that he feels the need to defend himself to a point. He’s been drug through the mud since the start and no one from the University has done anything to quell that.

Didn't they do this? And were roundly criticized in some circles for not rallying on support of UM. If you mean, just ignore the whole issue, not put Urban on leave and tell the world to fuck off, then no. They shouldn't have done that.

Yes, this is what I believe. I think it would have been much better for the University and definitely the athletic department if they had done just that. Unless a major donor was threatening to pull support if they didn't say something publicly, they should have just let a few media outlets run some stories and wait for the next news cycle. Some firm "no comments" at media days and not near as much is said. There would be plenty of public and press bad mouthing Ohio State over it. I'm pretty sure those same people are bad mouthing Ohio State now.

This thing has exponentially gotten worse every time Ohio State has collectively opened it's mouth. Do an investigation? Absolutely, there were serious questions to be answered, but do it internally and quietly. Suspend or fire the coach? Sure, if you have a cause to, but don't talk about until he's on his way out the door. I think a big portion of Ohio State's "black eye" is self inflected.

But that's just like, my opinion man.
