Urban F. Meyer (Former OSU, CFB and NFL coach)

I appreciate that he came to Ohio State, won a national title, and kicked some Wolverine ass.

Who you really need to string up is the dip-shit who insisted you should play - somebody :pimp: - in a Jacksonville bowl cripple fight...and take the bowl ban the following year.

That was a missed opportunity of Homeric proportion.

Correction: which short sighted AD coveted a cripple fight with UF over a unsportsmanlike matchup against ND for a title in 2012?

I disliked Tressel for a lot of the same reasons you did. You know that.

To beat it to death and act like he punched a baby/raped a kid is just beyond my level of outrage.

He lied to the NCAA/OSU..............He has been punished........it's over
sn't that what you are doing to Herbie

The only excommunicated Buckeye's, imo, are:

  • Art Schilchter
  • Giovanni Strassini
Other than that they have their warts but

I agree with this 100% Urban's approach changed when he got up here. The Roby and Hyde situations were perfect examples He'd learned some hard lessons about managing off-firld issues after UF. Now if he'd only been so zero tolerance to his staff.

You're not the only one to do this... but it kinda irks me how Earle's grandchild is foisted entirely on Urban.
As if there was no University or donor influence to keep him ... as if we all forgot Earle was a beloved HC at Ohio State; not just the guy who gave Urban his first professional chance at CSU.
The blame still falls on him as Zach's boss. But i think it doesnt paint the whole picture either.
It's not a coincidence that nothing happens until Earle passed... and that had nothing to do with Urban's first coaching job.

I mean, what kind of idiot would actually have paid to see that donkey show?

Just a personal opinion, people need to get off Urban. I logged on here because I felt his time had come..... but his commitment, his soul is tOSU. Mistakes were made, but Urban Meyer gave the Buckeyes all he had.

Again personally, I think he'll finish his career at ND...... maybe 10 seasons beginning 2021 or 22, maybe a few less.

All my respect, coach.....

I agree with you. I appreciate the success he brought to the university and aside from his inability to turn ZS loose he ran an extremely clean program. High grad rates and an great emphasis on developing lives after football and being leaders in the community.

If he ends up coaching again I won’t be surprised and he’s entitled to pursue whatever opportunity he do chooses. He’s too competitive to stay out of the game and I think he’s going to want to build on his legacy after watching a few seasons as a spectator. I could see ND or possibly back at OSU. He’s not going to TTUN and I don’t see him jumping up to the NFL.

2 things I will say

1) every year henceforth there will be fan and media speculation of which job he’s taking, Urban spottings and relitigation of his legacy, his health and transgressions at UF and OSU (mostly OSU)
2) If he does end up at ND he’s going to put us all in a conflicted state as we watch him absolutely burn up the recruiting trail including our coveted OH special powers top talent

C'mon, man. What donors are going to go to the mattresses over Zach Fucking Smith? Earl was no heavyweight with the kind of donors who could exert pressure to keep a toxic moron like ZS employed. Who in the university hierarchy from GS to Drake to the Board gave two fucking shits about Zach Fucking Smith? The ONLY person who had an emotionally vested interest in keeping ZFS around was Urban Meyer. He kept him around at Florida. He brought him to Ohio State. He kept him around at Ohio State And he only and finally decided to distance himself from Zach after Earl was in the ground.
