Urban F. Meyer (Former OSU, CFB and NFL coach)

I really enjoy the cast. Reggie Bush is great IMO. I even enjoyed Woodson's playful banter with Rob Stone during the pregame show.

Related, my 9-year old has made the switch. He now wakes up and asks for the remote to change it to the Fox Big Noon show. Being a Father, I am doing it right. HAHAHA

Urban basically started this rumor himself on The Herd last month. I was surprised to hear him say it, too.

"Pure speculation, because I know [Riley], but I don't know him like that, but that's the one [job]," Meyer said. "That's the New York Yankees, that's the Dallas Cowboys, that's the one. Great city, you got Dak Prescott, you got Zeke Elliott, you got a loaded team, and I can't speak for [Riley] obviously -- I hate to even speculate -- because I don't know him, that's really not fair, but to me, that's the one job in professional football that you kind of say, 'I gotta go do that.'"

Urban Meyer would 'absolutely' be open to taking Dallas Cowboys coaching job if an offer came his way

Classic case of rope-a-dope if you ask me. Jerry is a blow-hard windbag and a control freak, and hires kiss-ass puppets, a category Urban does not fall into. He has to have complete control, which if I remember correctly, he's not up to for health reasons. Love this guy where he is. :urban1: :urban2: :oh:

His BTN segments are phenomenal.

Love the last play he talks about, the 'check-check' where they trick TTUN into looking for a defensive signal change and then hike it quickly. I'd seen the play several times and didn't notice what was done. And then Olave's facemask spoils the brilliant call and execution (all except the catch).

Man, I don't know if Urban is only calling it as he sees it, or if he's openly trolling UM. You rarely see a coach just openly call out bad coaching and bad individual player actions like that. I will say that his outrage about a UM linebacker being up at the same level on Wilson's crossing route might have come in handy last year when our LBs were living on the line of scrimmage ...

I get the feeling he does not have a lot of respect for Don Brown.

SKULL SESSION: URBAN MEYER RETIRED TO KEEP RYAN DAY, OHIO STATE VS. LSU DEBATE WAS CLOSE AS IT GETS, AND CHASE YOUNG LEARNS HE'S A HEISMAN FINALIST

URBAN SPEAKS.
Urban Meyer is quickly becoming the most thorough, candid, thoughtful and enjoyable analyst on television – even if he's sharing a screen with Colin Cowherd.

I appreciate how blunt Urban is these days. He talked about how much he loves Joe Burrow and called it "heartbreaking" when he left and was candid that the injury might have cost him a starting job at Ohio State, but I also loved when spoke a little bit about Clemson what he thinks of its weak schedule, straight-up calling the ACC "not good."

The most interesting thing was when he essentially said he retired earlier than he was planning to to make sure Ohio State didn't lose Ryan Day to another head coaching job, which seems a little off given that he could barely stand on the sideline following the games, but multiple folks have whispered to me that Ryan Day thought Meyer was going to coach at least another year, so I buy it.

For what it's worth, I took Meyer's "coaching football" class during the 2017 season, and everyone there seemed oddly obsessed with the idea of "planned succession" and there always seemed to be a healthy bit of "hint hint, nudge nudge" every time Ryan Day's name was brought up.

I think this was in the works a lot longer than Ohio State will admit.

The Bucknuts/FaceBook headlines are: Could the former Ohio State Buckeyes coach be heading to the NFL?

Will Urban Meyer return to coaching?

The one article says: "Meyer told me he was in town for a White House Christmas party, after attending the Army-Navy game Saturday. Asked if he might consider the Redskins job. “I think I’m done coaching,” he said. He said he knew his presence at the game Sunday would trigger speculation," Fox News political analyst Brit Hume tweeted on Monday.

I heard he is planning on making Mike Brown an offer he can't refuse and take over as the Bengals' owner. Sources told me that.

I can't help but wonder if he won't have some kind of statue erected at some point. He and Tress on something would be pretty cool since they are Nati Champion coaches and both changed our program dramatically
