Urban F. Meyer (Former OSU, CFB and NFL coach)

I will just throw this out there for Schiano; he was the same guy running the same scheme in '16 and '17. He didn't just all of a sudden forget how to coach and become completely incompetent.

A couple of key position coach changes clearly aren't working out for whatever reason (none of us know), the talent is just down in the back 7 and Nick Bosa went out in week 3.

Schiano is a top shelf recruiter, I'd hate to see him run out of town on a rail if he isn't actually the problem.

I absolutely think defensive staff changes are needed. I am not so sure it's as clear cut as "fire Schiano".

Looking back, the Bucks weren't exactly setting the world on fire defensively. Last year, the defense gelled in the last four or five games (including the USC game) and were impressive. Aside from that, I can't say Schiano has really been that effective.

To be clear, I am not absolving him.

I am just stating the case for being thorough and prudent with the defensive housecleaning that I pray is coming.

On Meyer note. I would get treatment in between the end of the season and the bowlgame he doesn't look himself on the sidelines.
I do not know what type of "treatment" he would get. If you are talking about getting the cyst removed from his brain I do not know if that is the reason he is acting so differently than in past seasons. Maybe all of the stress from the outside stuff is getting to him and maybe he needs to talk to someone about that. I hate to use this phrase but he almost looked like a "madman" yesterday. I also do not know how the players react when they see their HC acting so strange. Also, if I am a parent of a recruit watching the way he is acting on the sidelines I might be hesitant for my son to come to Ohio State.

I think he is referring to Meyer getting the cyst drained. He had that done a few years ago. Not sure the cyst is removable but I am not a brain surgeon.

I do not know if they can even remove that cyst depending upon the location of it. I am also not a neurosurgeon but I have spent quite a bit of time on a neurosurgery floor. I am sure that they can keep on draining the cyst if it is causing pressure on the brain but any time someone has that type of operation you never know what you are going to get into.

I also have no idea if the pressure from the cyst is causing him to act the way he is acting this season or maybe it is just his desire to win so much. Only he could answer that question.

Why is Meyer showing emotion and passion on the sideline such a bad thing? I don’t think he is acting strange, and I enjoy seeing him engaged and fired up. He certainly isn’t as out of control as BK at ND. Of course, I grew up with Woody and the pussification of America has occurred in the meantime.....

I also did not notice anything abnormal about his sideline behavior, but I had the sound off so I wasn’t influenced by the announcers pushing an agenda and mentioning it constantly... or at least I assume that’s what they were doing.

I liked seeing him fired up. He should be. Make it known you aren't happy with the assistant coaches and on field play. Love it

You assume correctly. "the team takes on the personality of the coach", etc.

Comparing Arnette, Sheffield and pretty much all the safeties to the talent that has gone through that secondary the past few years, I would argue it's a significant drop off.

Completely agreed. Look at the Saints alone, and there are multiple DBs or safeties starting in the NFL. Meanwhile, Arnette is 15 yards behind a Maryland WR that'll never sniff the CFL.
