USC 70, Ark 17 (Final)

USC has too much offensive speed for Arkansas to even think about stopping them. Jarett, Smith, and Bush all are blazers, meanwhile you have a 235+lb back in Lendale White changing the pace, oh yeah.... and that Matt Leinhart guy is susposed to be alright.

Bottom line is that no one on USC's schedule has any chance of stopping their offense, the only chance they have to knock off USC is to keep the Trojan offense on the sidelines and use their offense to eat up the clock.

Defensively, USC has some definant holes up front.

This game is taking forever. USC just put their 70th point on the board, with their fourth string (?) QB throwing a TD pass. Nice to see Pete's crew throwing the ball with a mere 46-point lead...

Edit: They've got a bunch of recruits at this game, don't they?

USC had 725 yards of total offense. Guess you gotta impress the recruits...

Then again, that's not as impressive as Texas Tech was in running up 770 yards, 40 first downs, and 80 points against I-AA Sam Houston State. :roll1:

I agree about USC tonight to a point...Arkansas is not a program you roll up very often though, and I think they are one of the "ask no quarter, give none in return" group...maybe that's just me. In any case, I'm sure they hear all the people doubting this team, so they wan'ted to send a message through a usually decent team from a strong BCS conference.

Mike Leach, on the other hand, is a scumbag. They were still tossing it all over the place in the second half up at least 50 on a I-AA team...and for him, that's not a real surprise, because he's done that before.

Unfortunately, the defensive injuries continue to mount :smash:

That's why I love having his QB for fantasy.

Starting OLB (and one of our defensive captains) Dallas Sartz hurt his shoulder and is out for about 3 weeks. Starting CB Terrell Thomas is probably out for the year with a knee injury.

Starting SS (and the other defensive captain) Darnell Bing missed the game because of a hip flexor injury suffered against Hawaii. I expect he'll play next week, but I don't know that he'll be at full strength. Freshman backup OLB Brian Cushing is out with a dislocated shoulder. Hopefully he can get back because we'll need him in the defensive rotation.

We also have 2 backup CBs who are hampered by injuries, making CB depth a problem (of course, it seems to be a problem every year).
