USC's Pass D is looking VERY bad (MERGED: ALL NC GAME POSTS)

IIRC, Auburn was ranked #1 at the time last year as well, with the majority of the press predicting them to win it all.

I think last year's USC team vs. this year's is a toss-up. Mike Williams really was a stud, and I'm sure they lost a few other NFLers.
so because last years auburn team was majorly overrated....that means this years is too?

You mean Auburn? Or USC?
I mean Auburn. I thought they were overrated and overhyped at the beginning of the season [edit: LAST season]. By the time they got Wisky I thought they looked pretty good.

I don't know what to think of USC. I refuse to put any stock in the PAC10 and now I am really doubting the quality of the BigXII. Either way I am disappointed with the play and coaching of OU.

I am surprised how well prepared USC is.

Majorly overrated is your judgment, not mine. Auburn was an excellent team last year.

This is what I mean. Auburn came into the season with an experienced, highly regarded team, and hosted USC. USC was also highly regarded, but much less proven, having lost Heisman Trophy winner Carson Palmer and AA Troy Palomalu (sp?) and others. USC came in and won decisively, and I think even shut out Auburn and its vaunted running attack.

I think the same thing would happen this year on a neutral field, as Auburn would have a tough time scoring and stopping USC from scoring.

2nd year in a row that Oklahoma shouldn't have been in the NC game.

When is the media and every commentator gonna take Okies nuts out of their mouths and just accept that Oklahoma is very overrated. Auburn is a hell of alot better team than Oklahoma. Oklahoma's defense sucks..especially their secondary. Hopefully there are some big changes in the championship process of college football.

I hear you, but see it differently. I watched Auburn grow last year. I think they had difficulty finding an identity with all those RBs. At the same time, their 3 yr (at the time) starting QB was adjusting to this more ground oriented offense. Concurrently, their O Line seasoned and they developed a good defense. Their confidence carried over to this season.

I think they would not fear the big game like Stoops and Co and provide USC with a worthy opponent. And I don't THINK they play a FRESHMAN DB. (although I could easily be mistaken).
