I'm growing tired of the Trev Albert's suggesting Utah would have four losses in the SEC. Have these "analysts" not watched them play? Utah has been absolutely dominating all season. They have also played three BCS schools this season. How bad were those schools? Bad enough to take Oklahoma to the wire, beat Miami, and play Wisconsin in their closest game of the season. A good friend of mine has been a huge Utah fan his entire life (was born in Salt Lake City). I thought he was ridiculous when he talked about how good his team was. Well, I have watched them play all season and I agree with him. They are the real deal this year.

Utah beat these three schools (Texas A&M, Arizona, and North Carolina) by a combined 110 to 43. Other top ten teams have beat these schools a combined 89 to 42. A lot of those points against came while Utah gave its starters a break (20 in the second half). I don't think Utah is the best team in the country. But I do think they can play with anyone in the country. This isn't about a flawed BCS. Its about flawed human polls. The BCS won't work until these human polls lose their bias. There is no way Utah should be 7/8 and I hope they prove that in a BCS bowl this year. The Fiesta Bowl has already stated that Utah going undefeated and being eligible (eighth or higher in the BCS) will guarantee them a bid.

Its hard to say whether he'll bolt--IMO. The PAC 10 has been looking at Utah because of their Basketball program and presently their Football team. If Utah could get an invite to the PAC 10, along with BYU, there would certainly be incentives for Meyer to stay. Afterall, these coaches would like nothing better than to build a program--that is what gets you immortalized. My friend from Salt Lake has told me the boosters are stepping up and that program will continue to improve. Meyer is a heavily sought after coach, but he seems to be quite comfortable where he is. It would take a giant to spark his interest (one of the programs already on his contracts early out: TSUN, Ohio State, or Notre Dame).

I really should've gotten to a game while I lived in SLC, but the Buckeye obsession was just taking hold, and unfortunately I didn't have much interest in other teams.

Urban Meyer is very well respected, but for that very reason people assume he won't stay long. The state has a little bit of an inferiority complex, even though it's a great place to live.

It is interesting that the first non-BCS school to go to a BCS game will likely get matched up with West Virginia who is probably the worst team to ever go to a BCS game.

Now that I think about it, that wasn't very interesting.

Hell, pretty much any team they play in the country would be inferior to them. Their offense is so creative and skilled it is a beauty to watch.
Alex Smith is an amazing QB and everything, but I would like to see them against a top 20 defense.
They're almost as entertaining as Boise State though.

That 2000 Notre Dame team that went to the Fiesta Bowl and lost 41-9 to Oregon State would give WVU a run for its money as "worst team to ever go to a BCS game."

Utah deserves to be there: UNC beat Miami and A&M nearly nipped Oklahoma. It would be a shame if they don't get an at-large because that big pile of mastadon dung known as Texas, who never saw a bowl game they couldn't lose, just HAD to get an invite instead, but I'm afraid that's what will probably happen. Right now you have Cal, Texas, and Georgia looking for at-large bids (assuming USC, OU, and Auburn win the conferences) and they'll probably trump Utah. Utah could give any of those teams a run for their money, and they could beat WVU 9/10. Trev Alberts is the same assphone who said that "Iowa State is the place people go when they have no chance to play at Nebraska" right before Iowa State went out and spanked them. He's just an elitist prick who doesn't want to see Utah get a chance for fear of being shown to be the drivelling pile of cow flop he is...and there are many like him out there. Throw in the fact that the BCS conference folks aren't that interested in sharing the money and...
