LB Teradja Mitchell (transfer to Florida)

Not quite sure where all the sudden optimism is coming from but I did notice the recent CBs headed to the good guys.

Sure seems like a long way to go to me.

Sort of interesting the 2 schools that seem to be out in front as I expect both tOSU and FSU to be in the title hunt this year. Both seemed to be last year but appeared to be one year early. This year? Both should be in the thick of it. Should be interesting to see how recruits like him view each program by seasons end.

The optimism is coming mostly from his recent visit and the momentum from the Vincent commitment helps as well. Certainly a long way to go, but plenty to be optimistic about at this point. Even if an early commitment goes down, I would not be surprised to see this one play out until NLOID.

“I'm down to three,” Mitchell said. “It's Florida State, Ohio State, and LSU."
“My Ohio State visit had a big impact,” he said. “I really liked everything about it. Coach Meyer's message to me was all about life after football and his plan for me.

“I'm still 50/50 between Florida State and Ohio State,” Mitchell said. “I'm trying to enroll early. I don't have a commitment date yet but I'm thinking late May or early June.”

Mitchell explained what it was about Florida State that has them under heavy consideration.

“I just feel like it’s home for me. They got a great connection to my area. I got a relationship with coaches and players. It’s a great school, and I know they can develop me to be the best player I can be…They’re telling me it’s the school for me. Just come, and they are going to develop me, treat me like family throughout the whole nine and the rest of my life.”

Ohio State received a visit from Mitchell last month.

“It was a great visit, it really opened my eyes to them. They’re now one of my top schools obviously. I just like how they preached life after football, that was a big thing for me. Coach Urban Meyer is a great coach, I know he can develop me as well. I just love the school overall.”

Meyer’s pitch to Mitchell was direct during their meeting.

“His message to me was if you come here, you’re choosing the hard route, but it’s going to pay off in the end. I really like that about him, he gets the best out of his players.”
