Vidauntae "Soft Taco" CharLLLLton (SOFT TACO)

This could end up like Joe Bolden of last year .. who didn't get an offer till the last minute, as Taco's quickly climbing the ranks...
Much to the chagrin of many Ohio recruitniks. Taco isn't close to the football player that Joe is.

Nothing happened to cause him to move up other than they say they actually watched some of his film. I'm sure OSU has seen the film. They passed. That isn't to say Taco doesn't have some potential. Ohio State has passed on plenty of in-state guys over the years that have had good college and even pro careers.

We can't offer everybody. Good luck to Taco. I don't see the need to be defensive about him not being offered.

Oh, I'm sorry, I'm not trying to be defensive .. I understand how much talent is in Ohio, you can't get 'em all.

Especially with all the DL talent you have brought in of late, I understand ... there are great players from Ohio who want to be buckeyes but go elsewhere because a lack of a spot, which sometimes benefits the team that nabs them. Luckily for Michigan fans.

Lucky for UM fans, our coaches have been good at picking up a slew of these types, that's all. Sorry if that came off tool-ish.

I feel like it boils down to this for Ohio State...they had better recruiting classes previous under Tressel the 2-3 than Michigan was with Rodriguez the years before Urban, and Urban just brought in bona-fide 5* impact Ends in 2012 in Noah Spence and Adolphus Washington. Lots of times I see 5* kids that I think are not worthy of 5* ratings- those two most definitely are. Urban also happened to bring in a 4* end rated by most sites in the top 150 in Se'Von Pittman, and a 4* kid that could wind up at end in Perry.

Urban can very selective at the position group in 2013.

Hoke doesn't have that luxury. He has to take kids like Taco, he needs to what he can to re-stock and get athletes back in there on defense. Michigan was playing walk-ons at DL and Safety in 2011 for example.

I wonder what exactly he did to jump up the rankings so much. It's got to be based purely on potential. Watching Pick Central he didn't stand out the games that I watched and wasn't even on the field much of the time. Why can't he get on the field or even start every game on a high school team?

Little early to say Hoke and company are good at finding "diamonds in the rough". They may well end being very good at it, but until they show it on the field, it's all speculation.

Joe Bolden may compare far more favorabily with Luke Kuechly, ILB, Boston College, but not Taco. I only saw Taco play in one game, the state title game against Cleveland St Ignatius. I watched him on every play and he was a very imposing, non-factor in the game.

Taco reminded me physically of former OSU player Rob Rose, Both looked like all pro NFL players as juniors in high school. Rose, his senior year, was rated five stars, and one recruiting service had him rated the number one DE in the country. In large part, the rating was based on size, speed, and potential, same with Taco.

That Rose comparison is actually a real good one. You're on your game man. I think Taco is being rated a 4* because he's looked good at camps. Think he even won the MVP of one camp as a sophomore. He is a big athlete.

Hoke needs to get all the talent he can up there. I don't know if people realize how badly Rich Rodriguez bricked that roster with his recruiting. His coaching and development of players on defense was terrible. The guy also burned redshirts of Will Campbell and Devin Gardner - the two biggest recruits he signed - for no apparent reason.

I feel sorry for Arizona fans. That guy is just a complete tool.

He went to a Columbus camp last year and guys there said he left a lot to be desired. Personally I'd have him as a 3* but don't get paid for my opinion, would be surprised if scout made him a 4*.

Rose wasn't in Spence or Adolphus' league but Rose was a low 5* and Spence/Adolphus were top 10 players per scout. Adolphus is the best Ohio DE I've ever seen.
