Warrior Dash... anyone here done one

I first ran the Camp Pendleton & Irvine mud runs 20 years ago & still hit them up at least every couple of years.

Also regularly run the Rugged Maniac, Survivor Challenge, Original Mud Run, Tough Mudder...

Hands down the most challenging are the longer 'Spartan Race' events.

Seriously thinking about doing the one in June here in Ohio.

I'm also thinking about letting my beard grow the entire time between now and then. With a huge red beard, a beer and a Viking helmet, I think it's absolutely worth it

Only if you do the Technoviking dance the entire route.

I did the second Ohio one last year. My advice: sign up for the earliest heat possible. After that, it gets pretty disgusting.

I was most surprised about how hard the obstacles looked and how easy they actually were when your adrenaline is flowing during a race. As a person who generally fears heights, it was easy to set that aside climbing the walls because I didn't want to fall behind. So no time to even think about falling.

that, and try to map out the easiest path through the obstacles in terms of who's in front of you. some girls freak out on the nets and walls and take forever. so even if you can get to the obstacle and get part way up before reaching one, it's best to avoid it.

the 2nd ohio course ran much tougher than the first last year from the people I spoke with that did both.
