Week 8 CFB Open Thread

I’m going 8.5 for the same reason. I just started from a lower number because I intend to protect the sanctity of the Cheez-It Bowl and it’s perfect 10 of hilarious awfulness.

It will take a galactic display of incompetence to ever get a 10 in my book.
Love the Cheez-It pics btw, we have to work that in to the running joke.
Need @jwinslow to work them into one of the graphic options.

I have no idea who plays QB at Northwestern, Indiana, or Illinois, but I assume it’s the same person that just rotates based on game or year.

Brandon Peters is bound to make it three B1G teams whenever he inevitably Grad-Transfers.

Rice loses after kicker's game-winning field goal bounces off the uprights an unbelievable four times

Rice kicker Collin Riccitelli’s game-winning 45-yard field goal bounced off the uprights an astonishing four different times before falling to the ground.

You have to see this video to believe it. It may be the most insane missed field goal you’ve ever seen.

Saturday’s kick came in the first overtime of Rice’s game against Middle Tennessee State. The teams entered overtime tied at 34-34 and MTSU missed a field goal to begin the first OT. Needing just a field goal to win it, Rice played for the three points and ended up with four bounces.

College football’s rules alternate possessions in overtime, so Rice started the second OT with the ball. After failing to get a first down, Rice turned to Riccitelli again and his 40-yard kick was blocked.

That meant MTSU simply needed to score to end the game and QB Asher O’Hara gave the Blue Raiders a 40-34 victory with a 14-yard run.

The game was the first of the season for Rice because of the coronavirus pandemic. The Owls didn’t start the season in September with the rest of Conference USA.

As someone else who holds the highest regard for the sanctity of the Cheez-It Bowl, I agree.

Yeah, Vegas would've never done it. But they don't need to cater to anyone.
Just thinking about this a little more... DK just set themselves a precedent, any controversial finish are they going to refund money as site credits? They just opened themselves up a whole giant can of worms. I wouldn’t be surprised if they get sued by someone who says it was a controversial finish and they want their bet not counted.... Liability wise this seems like a stupid move
