The Most Power-Drunk
The poker table thread got a couple of us thinking (ok, full credit goes to mccoy178)...would anyone else here (local, of course) be interested in participating in a weekly poker game? Mccoy and I both play on a somewhat regular basis, and figured others here did as well...so if anyone would be interested in playing once a week or so, respond to this thread, and we'll see if we can't get something started. We can work out details later (like how much) depending on what the majority wants. I figure we can probably just rotate where we play, making the location different each week. Let me know if you're interested...

I live 1/2 Hr West of Columbus, so anywhere in town is fine by me. It would only take about three to four hours to play a couple of games. Since it is illegal to rake from the pot(take money from the prize pool), I would suggest that whoever hosts only has to provide a table and shelter. The others should bring the poker chips and refreshments. That has seemed to work real well at our local game. If any of you are interested and are unfamiliar with how these things work, check out Home Poker Tourney. This site has all the answers for doing this stuff.

Oh, come on, people, I know more of you play poker. I have a table (ok, fine, it's a cheap top) and 500 chips (and those are nice) and a house to play in. We need to get some people to play. Cowards.
FKA,

I think this is a good idea, me and the guys I work with do this but we do it once a month b/c once a week is just too often b/c a lot of them have kids and stuff and it's tough for them to go every week.

I think if you make it once a month then you'd get more of a response.

Now I wish I actually lived in Columbus. Of course in Cleveland I am in on average 2-3 low stake games a week. Gotta love Quarter games with plenty of alcohol and pizza. My Sunday night ritual to relive the college days... drink heavily then suffer through the next day.

Screw poker... it is Euchre tourney time!!! Me and my buddy in college were unstoppable! Of course we played No Holds Barred Euchre where you were allowed to cheat, sign, try to stack the deck but to counter you could cut twice. Yep, it was messed up... but it was fun stealing signs and known what other people had. Plus when drunk & stoned... it can be mightily fucked up game.

But I also play straight lace Echre pretty darn well too
