This is pathetic. I can't believe that this kid's dad actually supports him in this. I give out summer assignments A-because the academic director at our school says that is what AP classes should do and B- because I think it is important not to let your brain rot 100% in the summer time. I would also support making teachers read a couple of books on their given discipline-history,science,math- as well.

A lot of goofballs voting for the kid:

Yes, and it should be counted as part of the students' grades. 4607 votes (21%)
Yes, but it should not be counted for a grade. 3878 votes (17%)
No, summer is time off. 13968 votes (62%)

My guess is this kid will grow up to be a teacher since he wants to be a bumb during the summer.

In all seriousness, this kid's dad is a dumbass. What type of lesson is he teaching his kid by suing the teacher? However, this type of mentality must be normal for the Milwaukee area as 60% of the people answering that poll are in agreement with the kid and his dad.

Should you be surprised? Buttnuts is living proof that the internet is crawling with lazy kids who aren't too successful with their homework. AndThey only muster up enough ambition to keep protect themselves from learning, doing, or saying anything productive.

I don't mind having 4-5 pages of Summer homework. But the Summer is my time off and I should be able to use it however I want to. Teachers shouldn't give kids 2 400 + page reading assignments as I had this past Summer or 1,000 math problems. There should be a limit.

Two 400 plus page reading assignments should take up maybe 8 hours of your time, that would exclude the reading you do for enjoyment. The 1000 math problems should'nt eat up much time either, I think one would still have time for a regularly scheduled summer. You better get used to it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sheesh, summer break for many places is three fucking months. If this little punk fuck can't find the time to do some summer homework during that much of a break, then he might as well get a head start on his burger-flipping career and go ahead and drop out now. I personally volunteer to go backhand his dumbass dad...

A few inferences based on reading that article:

1) He received a brand new car at age 16, has his insurance paid by his parents, and usage of a gas card.

2) He receives a weekly allowance with little to no work involved in earning it.

3) He has never had an honest day of physical labor in his life.

4) His Dad smoked mad amounts of dope in the 60's and believes in Utopian theories
