I downloaded it last night. Me and a few friends jumped in a private match and had a great time killing each other.

Went to a public match and then we all logged off. I’m too old for this shit, man.

That's real.

I played 2 matches. First match I had 1 total kill. But it was because I grappling hooked a warthog and nuked the driver to hijack his ride. Complete luck because I didn't think it would work. But still, for those 10 seconds or so it was fun not getting my ass beat all over the map.

I lost interest in Halo when they added a one-shot lunge mechanic in the sword. I was basically fodder for the sword guy the entire match, which is literally the reason I stopped playing Halo back in the day.

Will probably play with friends still and just remove the sword with the editor (if possible). Fuck that weapon.

In all honesty I only ever played the 1st halo campaign way back in the day with one of my oldest friends. Beyond that we never really touched the multiplayer. I was invited to one xbox lan party and it wasn't really my thing.

At that point my cousin was into computers, built our systems and we were onto games like Battlefield 1942 and counter-strike.

Never played any of the Halo titles after that until 4 came along. Good game series, interesting plot. Just wasn't brought up with it the ways others were so I can't speak the sword breaking gameplay.

At this point I've been so busy I'm lucky to get a game of Madden in. But when things slow down I might roll back to Halo MP or find something a little more involving.

After skipping last gens consoles since I had built a new PC circa 2016 or so, I’m back in the game after finally getting a PS5 at retail price. Given I played nothing on the PS4 the new PSN Premium at $120/year seems a good value. Started playing Horizon: Zero Dawn tonight. Quite enjoying it, though the character models are just the right amount of good and bad to sit firmly in that creepy, uncanny valley.

26 days and over 110 hours of gameplay later, I’ve completed almost all content in both Zero Dawn and the Frozen Wilds expansion DLC (still have a couple timed challenges to nail at a couple proving grounds to get the double Platinum trophies for 100% completion in both), and then I’ll probably spend a week on New Game+ on Ultra Hard just to see if I can complete the main storyline.

100% invested in this franchise and the story. One of my favorite games of all time.

Off to Best Buy on Monday to buy Forbidden West.
