Everybody is somebody else's weirdo.
The last 2 weeks I read these three books:
Great book, one of the original "bad boys' of tennis. Actually Ilie Năstase is probably the original "bad boy" of tennis; and not surprisingly he was a good friend of Connors. For a guy that admits he wasn't that great in school and even paid someone $20 a report/paper during his Freshman year at UCLA he did a great job writing this book. He really tells some good inside stuff about his life and tennis. If you like tennis and/or followed Connors (he did become the ATP No. 1 ranked player on July 29, 1974 and held it for 160 consecutive weeks), you'll like this book.
A composite of Yogi's life by someone who read and complied the book from thousands of newspaper reports, etc. Book was interesting but not great.
Basically an autobiography of his life with a final message "wear a condom if you are going to have sex with women you pick up in bars and/or that pick you up". It is kind of a sanitized squeaky clean autobiography. Apparently Magic did work hard in the classroom and on the court, and did real good in his business interests too, etc.; however, he's from Michigan (Lansing and Michigan State) so he still sucks.
