What book are you currently reading, or recommend?

Clarity (& others)-

I completely agree about the Wheel of Time series starting to drag. I started to read the series after Jordan had released book 4, and thoroughly enjoyed all of the books to that point. Then the bastard was taking over two years between books, and when he finally came out with the newest one, hardly anything actually happened in it. I'm hooked, though, and in too deep to give up now. Jordan's real good about giving you that "fix" though, as well. For anyone who has read all of the books (currently waiting on book 11 to be released), remember the very last chapter of book 9? More stuff happened in that chapter than has happened in the last five books together. I'll stop venting now.

I read The Case for Israel by Alan Dershowitz this weekend. It makes a weekend road trip go by much faster when the wifey is driving and I have a book to read. I would highly recommend this book to any and all, highly informative...

Time to revive this thread... what are y'all reading?

I'm not reading anything fun, just books for my grad school class -- The Social Life of Information by John Seely Brown and Smart Mobs: The Next Social Revolution by Howard Rheingold. I plan on reading Joe College by Tom Perotta when I get some free time.

Sadly, I've not been reading anything but the newspaper and the occassional Atlantic Monthly article lately. I still have a to-do list as long as my arm for stuff around our new house (new is kind of a mis-nomer, it was built in 1910, hence the long list of things to do).

Perhaps I'll have more time to get into a good book once the snow starts flying. I still haven't read the newest Harry Potter, so that may be next. I know it' not too cerebral, but it's good escapism :biggrin:

I'm reading several:
"Committed- Confessions of a Fantasy Football Junkie"
"The Expectant Father" (man, there is SO much I don't know....)

And, of course, two MBA textbooks- one on real estate finance, and one on corporate strategy. Great stuff.

I never finished Clinton's book.

I have been reading Financial Analysis Tools and Techniques, A Guide For Managers by Helfert.

And to prove how conservative I am, I am reading a book from the NRA on the falsehoods of the gun control issue.

That and a lot of Junie B Jones books to my kid.

Currently working my way (very,very slowly) through Dante's Divine Comedy. I must remain disciplined though in order to get through the "classics" I want to. Canteberry Tales is up next, which from what I remember from my senior year of high school should be a much more enjoyable read.

what is so funny is that you REALLY have no idea what you dont know.....
there are two types of men in this world.....those who are fathers and those who are not...the divide is sooooo large that you cannot imagine until you cross over....

i wouldnt trade a single day at the park with my son for all of the national championships in the world...
