Anyone heard of it? I've been doing it for about 7 seasons now... it's a college football simulation that I participate in that goes through recruiting and game planning. Pretty cool stuff. I thought it'd be dumb at first but I'm really into it. I (Head Coach at each respective school) moved from DIII to DII this season. Went from Ohio Wesleyan to Edinboro (PA). Anyone else doing/know about it?

It has other sports but I haven't done any others.

I tried a season of CFB on WhatIf, but the text-based simulation over at Dolphinsim.com is cheaper, more realistic in its simulation, and more competitive since there's a smaller pool of coaches and leagues (I've been in the CCEL league for 20-some seasons). The DEL college basketball/baseball and pro sims are great too.

Does that program use real schools too?

Yes, you have to work your way up from "tier-3" (I-AA schools with a postseason tourney) to "tier-1" (BCS conferences + ND), which you can do in 2 winning seasons (seasons are 13 weeks long, 2 games per week, right now we're in conference championship week, next season starts Aug.3). CCEL is a really active league with lots of interaction with other coaches--the league homepage is here. First season is free, with no restriction on coaching/recruiting functions.

Sweet. Can (How do) I hook you up with a referral?

No need (but thanks), I've referred numerous people over the years just for the love of the game. It can be pretty numbers-intensive, so it's not for everyone, but guys who like this sort of sim (or the dynasty mode of NCAA video games) can get really addicted to it. Feel free to PM me if you have any in-depth questions...
