Favorite Bond movie?

I've watched every Bond movie in the last two weeks, except for Spectre and Skyfall.

I even watched the first Casino Royale from 1967, a farce with David Niven, Peter Sellers, Woody Allen, and a large number of cameo roles.

The Daniel Craig movies are the only ones that compare to the first 5 that Connery made. Edit - The Spy Who Loved Me and Goldeneye were both decent, though.

Gotta go with Ursula Andress and Halle Barry as my favorite Bond Girls, primarily on hotness. But Diana Rigg in the Lazenby flick and Eva Green in Craig's Casino Royale added the most as characters in the films.

Do you even Mrs. Ringo Starr, Bro?

Anyone know if there's a streaming option for the late 70s BBC miniseries of Le Carre's "Tinker, Tailor..." and "Smiley's People." Far different ethos than Fleming/Bond.
A fine choice, my good man! I have both BBC Smiley series on DVD because they have always been hard to find... Looks like it was on the Audience network which just went kaput (which may mean they will end up on HBO Max?) - but I believe these are the full episodes on Youtube:

Sir Alec’s Smiley is the very best Smiley. And then Sir Patrick as Karla? Perfection.

I did post this bout 10 days ago, talking about Jaxbuck:

But she has a better ass than commie Barbara Bach in The Spy Who Loved Me, which I just watched today.

And then after being told I wouldn't kick Barbara out of bed for eating crackers:

Not even the current version of her, but it could get crowded with Ringo in there.

Only thing I see is the Gary Oldman film of TTSS is on Netflix. The only option I can find for either of the original series is to purchase them on Amazon.
Surprisingly, Britbox doesn't even have them and they a lot of the great British series, since they are partially owned by the BBC.

Who are these morons? I can concede Connery winning, but Daniel Craig second to last and only ahead of Lazenby. Ridiculous.

Must be a big Dalton fan. I'm partial to The Living Daylights since it was the first Bond movie I saw in the theater, but the other one was a steaming pile. Connery made Bond so he will always be #1. It's impossible to compare the quality of the movies due to improvements in movie making since they started. If told me to sit down for a weekend and have Bond marathon it would be all Brosnan, Craig, TLD, and maybe some Connery movies. My list would probably be Connery, Craig, Brosnan, Moore, and Dalton. I never saw the one with Lazenby so it isn't fair to put him on the list.

I liked Dalton. It was a good reset after the Roger Moore movies had deeply strayed into the realm of self-parody even if it did arguably swing the pendulum too far in the opposite direction. Brosnan started out good, but by the end when he was driving around in the invisible car, it was time to hit the reset button. For me, the Craig movies have all been great. Quantum was definitely the weakest of the bunch, but on a recent second viewing came across better than I had remembered it. Casino Royale is top 3 for me, and Skyfall is top 5. Spectre dropped off a bit but was still strong.

Its very interesting in that with every reset of the character the first 1 or 2 movies are phenomenal then instead of keeping that going they go back to tried and true gadgets and rando stuff, again maybe with the exception of Craig’s bond

  1. Connery because he was the first
  2. Moore because he some of the first I saw and better actor
  3. Craig because the washing away of the fluff that Bond had become for more grit and rawness
  4. Brosnin only because of Golden Eye and that damn video game that cost me several deans list during my freshman year
  5. Dalton need to rewatch but really no good memories of him - he’s always been the bad guy
Lazenby probably the actual best of the bunch but sample size can’t rank him

And even Quantum of Solace had Bond going full Wade Boggs (Martini edition) in the Virgin Atlantic 747 bar.

The Bond Cocktail Meter.
