I thought the original question was "what RB(s) do we land in this class??". Not whoes right or wrong in their assumptions. If anyone has solid information of what RB's OSU lands or what RB are totally not interested in OSU, please do enlighten us all. I'd be glad to hear the info either way.
I have read all the info on these recruits and they are all at least interested in OSU. Wether the assumptions are correct or not is of little consequence. We are all just giving wishful input as too who is coming or not because only the recruits and coaches really know. Why not just post info. of whom you think OSU will get to commit and please, if you have any good info as to who is or who is not coming to OSU then please enlighten us all. We are on the same side and want only the very best to come to OSU!! I still think OSU has as good a chance as anyone to get commitments from any of these top notched recruits.

J.Ringer 90%
C.Tolbert 90%
A.Russell 80%
Gwaltney 75%
J.Stewart 75%
M.Wells 55%
E.Collington 50% (grades?)
J.Oakley If needed 90%
Stormin, I believe what he is saying is those numbers are close to ridiculous and they are.

To say that Gwaltney who is currently commited to another school is a 75% lock to come to tOSU would mean that he is only what at 20% to go to the commited school and 5% to the other schools offering?

J. Steward is being chased by the entire west coast.. we may be at 35% on him if we are lucky (this STILL would make us the leader for his services)

I can see Ringer being a lot higher maybe even to the 60% or 70% range but 90?? We havent even given the kid an offer yet.

Wells also seems more reasonable and I do think we are the likely to get him if no one else commits first so I'll leave that one alone.

Talk about some guys reading too far into an opinion. I respect your opinion BuckeyeSoldier but my post was also just that- an opinion!! If there is anymore info as to any RB's; POST IT!! I'd love to read that instead of debating on the correct % points! Only the coaches and recruits know for sure what % is correct. Really, WHO CARES if the % points are correct or not. Your guess is as good as mine. Thing is I don't care if I am wrong because no matter what OSU will have a GREAT recruiting class and do well. The only reason I stated we had a chance at any of these recruits is because they have indeed shown some interest in OSU on their threads. Miliani and others have stated earlier that J.Stewart was waiting on pins and needles to get an offer from OSU and I took it for what it was. If ya want to argue go find him. Gwaltney stated he was very interested in OSU... who knows? I could care less if I am wrong or right. I am more interested if there is any new info on any of these athletes instead of debating the rediculous. haha too funny.:slappy:

Hows this for saving your sanity and getting back to the original question and seeing the [sarcasm]Errors[/sarcasm] of my ways hahaha?

What Big Back do we take?

While I agree this is probably indicative that Wells is on board, that still leaves the question of who we take as our second (preferrably big) back this year. Stewart seams unlikely, Gwaltney is a toss up, James Davis is still leaning towards Va. Tech (despite Elan Lewis already committed there), Mike Ford seems like a longshot, and Conredge Collins is built more like a fullback. Any other names out there? Ed Collington maybe? Jayson White? Curtis Brinkley? Anderson Russell can play RB, but the fact that we offered him as a safety and Brandon Mitchell was his host tells you which side of the ball he will probably end up on...

Thanks...and for the record, I would love to see the coaches take a closer look at Ed Collington. From what I have read, the kid is a punishing runner and as I recall would love to be a Buckeye.

Agreed- He was pretty spectacular for most of the year. I think what hurt him with the Buck coaches is a combination of him getting hurt at the end of the year (missing a few games or ineffective because of his injury) and grade concerns. Sound familiar??

Sounds exactly like why this thread was split in the first place...

I remember reading similar things about Collington. No SAT score listed as of yet. Maybe there is some way they can get Collins, although I am doubtful given that he also has offers from Florida, FSU, and NCSU...his visit in January will have to be impressive.

Would love to see us make progress with CC. It seems with Miami's insistence on him as a FB, it has opened up the door for other teams. My initial thought was that he would then go to FSU but it appears his NCST visit opened his eyes up a bit. If we can get him on campus in January (he is scheduled to visit) maybe we can impress upon him the opportunties he could have with the Buckeyes.

Another name to consider is Jayson White. He might not have the marquee value that some of the other names have but he had a very good senior season. From all accounts he aquitted himself very well against Doug Worthington's team and some feel he more than held his own in blocking assignments against Doug.

In the last update the tOSU coaches told him he was 1 of 3 big backs they were looking at- who knows?? No question he wants to be a Buckeye and play with his buddy Kyle Mitchum.

I'm not sure this is the case, but with us running the "shotginn" and four reciever sets more than any other formation there will be less wear and tear on Johnson. Perhaps the coaches are thinking Dionte can fill that role, similar to how BJ did when he was healthy against Kst and TSUN.

That doesn't mean we do not need another big back, but perhaps it means that it is not as urgent in the coaces minds,as it is some of ours.

Just a thought...

I don't think we'll bring in a big back this year(unless something miraculous happens with Gwaltney). Mich. is bringing in Grady this year, right behind Hart and Martin. By not bringing in a big RB this season I think it puts us in a much stronger position with C. Wells next year.
