What do you think this team will come out and Do against Penn State?!

I for one think we'll try to use our speed in the backfield with some draws/ Qb roll outs and such things like that! They're good on Defense so it kinda worry's me but I think with Troy in there we should have a very good shot at gett'n some points on the board early. Hopefully more of Tg2!!

Hopefully our defense can stop this team because this team isn't do'n much as of right now on Offense.....

Do you think Troy will do better than Drew Tate did? It looked like PSU pretty much shut him down and forced 2 safeties. This game will go a long way in helping me create an opinion of what Troy can do. Personally I think if PSU plays us like they did Iowa we are going to be in for a very long day. On the bright side PSU's offense isn't very good so hopefully our D will be able to shut them down. The spread right now is 5.5 and I think I'll take PSU in the vBook.

Same as we did with Indiana.

Try to spread the field with some bombs to open up the running game but we'll find much tougher sledding against Penn St.

They have an awesome defense, problem is they have an anemic offense.:sick1:

Smith will be tested. As will Pittman.
Pressure from our LB's is a must if we expect to win.

I think we have to come out and throw the ball deep. OSU has the speed at Wide out to challenge ANYONE. All it will take is hitting a couple of long passes to pull those safeties back to respect the threat of throwing over there heads.

Tressel and co. know we cant play the ultra conservative, feild position game to win from here on out. The defense isnt as good as in 02 or 03 and that means they have to open things up a bit with the offense. Its funny how much better a rested defense that feeds off the offense looks as opposed to a tired defense that is expected to carry the offense.

IMO if the bucks can get an early score and play smart football we can win a close game. This one will likely be a lower scoring game. Scores may come from special teams or a turn over run back.

Penn St. scares me this week. They have not won a Big Ten game, and have a fantastic defense.

We have absolutely no business losing this game. If we do, it'll be a much bigger upset than our loss at Northwestern.

1.) PSU is frickin' 2-5, and has only beaten Akron and Central Florida, both at home.

2.) Their offense is atrocious. In their five losses, they don't have a single rushing TD, scoring 7, 3, 7, 13, and 0 points (6 ppg), and have a grand total of two TDs in four conference games. They shouldn't even score on us.

3.) While their defense is very good, there's no reason why we can't score 20 point on them in our house, which should be easily enough to win.

4.) They've never beaten us in The Shoe.

We should win this one 23-6.

Exactly. Well said!

I personally right now am of the opinion that Penn State will beat us this week. They have a much stronger defense than a team with their record should. They have a mobile QB with ability. They have a back with vision. All of these things are things we have had trouble with this season.

I hate to be negative, but the only way we win this week is if we win the turnover battle, or the Horseshoe just has their number (they have never won in the Shoe!).

Joe Pa may be old and senile but those kids want to do anything they can to win for him, and this is one way to help salvage their season.

We could easily lose this, in fact I would say I would expect it.

Thanks for the TG2 TD. Thats the first I have seen it. Couldn't watch the game and don't have anyone who taped it.
Now if someone can show me the NS hit I'll be thrilled.

Actually, I believe that is Hall for the Chief's last year, not TG2 :( I haven't seen anyone with that up yet.

I don't agree with a lot of the sentiment in this thread. First, I don't think that establishing the pass is going to be our game, nor do I think QB mobility is going to be the answer. This IS a classic Tressel game. PSU can't move the ball, we know that. The defense played this past week at a higher velocity, and we need that this week. What we do need is to establish the running game with Pittman. Get him to the outside where he can work, and when going inside, use road graders like Rehring. Turano needs to beat the hell out of the ball on punts. Iowa had no prayer of moving the football on the ground, and PSU just teed off on Tate. Don't make Troy win this. When PSU starts stacking the box, toss a few deep, safe routes to Holmes, Ginn and Company to loosen them back up a little. That much I agree with. No turnovers, get the ball where Nugent can deliver three, and keep Penn State's anemic offense backed into their own end. Like I said, classic Tressel.

Our secret weapon is kick returns, specifically punts. Holmes and Ginn need to get freaky with one or two to put us in good field position on a couple of drives. We're not going to move the ball 85 yards in one drive, but put us starting on their 45, and we're in business. Hidden yardage, field position, defense, kicking, no turnovers -- do the basics and get it done. OSU 16-6.
