When will the Pope die?

I watched abc's coverage of this,

Did you know that this pope is the first pope to use and incorporate the internet into the vatican? Wow!!

He also brought down communism single handedly!!

And finally he's the most well travelled pope and the flew on more airplanes than any previous pope!!

Holy Smokes!!!

More milestones: after additional investigation I found out that he... was the first pope to guest host SNL, throw out the first pitch at Yankee Stadium on opening day 2003, predict the winner of the Belmont Stakes for the last 12 years flawlessly, and win the "Vatican Texas No Limit Poker Tourny" 7 years running.

The internet thing shouldn't be all that surprising. He has been pope for 25 years. At what stage of infancy was the internet in when he took office?

He had a big hand in bringing down Communism. He empowered the people of his native Poland and other Eastern Bloc countries to stand against it.

Again, he travelled on more planes because air travel was much more common over the last quarter century than in previous years.

Not trying to shoot down your info, because it is infact all true to some extent, but it needs to be kept in perspective. A pope one thousand years from now will regarded as the galaxy's most travelled pope with his vists to Mars and Moon settlements and the tour he'll make of the Kuiper Belt.

John Paul II is to the office of Pope that Reagan was to the office President of the United States. He was adored as a great communicator and he displayed an ability to bring people of different backgrounds together to discuss things in a way that previous men in their posts did not.

That will be his legacy. He was 40x the "uniter" that Dubya will ever be.

I hop you were joking about being impressed by him being the first pope to use the internet.

It is significant that he was the first non-Italian pope in over 450 years.

I was in the group of about 1 million people that saw him in Grant Park in Chicago in 1979. He was very popular in Chi-town, since it has more Polish people than any city in the world except Warsaw.

I'm not sure if the crowd that day was bigger than the crowd in Grant Park that celebrated the Bulls first NBA title in 1993. I was in that throng, also.
