Which CB Will Replace Fox?

Rah Rah Rah Fox is our man if he can't do it no one can!

Whatever I have angered the masses again I guess I should just say I am sorry I am wrong, because the majority is always right?

Let me see if I can try to answer your questions, some I may not be able to.

EJ's pass interference call was not a correct call, or very close at the least.

One bad play is not the problem, a series of bad plays is.

OSU Grad you have got to be the most arrogant person who knows very little it seems to me about this situation. I know it's hard to see these things down in South Cackalacki. I understand you have a clipboard, well good for you so that makes you the pumba of football knowledge. If that is the case why hasn't Tressel asked you to join his staff, for that matter why hasn't Parcells? I mean you are a football genius right? Or are you more of a talent guy? Surely you have been contacted by ESPN, the Dispatch? Someone? Bottom line: a degree in PE doesn't make you an expert, not by a long stretch. Should I just come to you and ask you everything about football. Look I don't know you from adam but you must have some sort of disfunction to think that because someone sees something a different way that they should sit on the couch because I am an expert. The funny thing is I agree with most of the things you say on this board, I disagree with one thing and all of a sudden I am the idiot. You really have no idea you just think you do, which is good until you can't accept that someone else may have a different opinion. Are you divorced, it wouldn't be a shocker if you were. The world does not revolve around your opinion, and your opinion is not always right.

Who keeps bringing up Fox - YOU! Wrong, try reading:

Wheres all the buckeye fans that always bad mouth Fox as a cb. The pass coverage was a joke after he was injured.

I guess JT is in on this great white conspiracy too. I mean 30 + starts???

No, it is not a white conspriracy, he is just extremely loyal to a fault, especially to Seniors. Why do you think Lydell is playing, because he is the best back we have? C'mon.

Some of the other disputes would be something I would have to go back and check the game film to find out, but I didn't record this game, I didn't expect it to be much of one, and it wouldn't have been had Zwick not mad some stupid choices to put our defense in bad positions.

To Mr. KillerNut....

1) My degree is in English Lit...not your stereotypical dumb jock. Strike One

2) You call me arrogant yet you are the guy calling people stupid ass names in an attempt to cover your own ass when it has been proven and admitted by you that you don't really know jackshit about Secondary play. You basically see things happen on the screen but do not comprehend what you are seeing. Therefore, your idiotic blathering does offend me when you trash a solid player who has been nothing but a perfect ambassador of this program. Strike Two.

3) How did you come to this wonderful conclusion that I do not know anything about the situation at hand?? Is that another of your juvenile shortcuts to actual thinking? I hae zero problem with your opinion...it seems as if you are the one blowing a gasket here. Cheerleaders...idiots?? Yet I am the one offended by someone else's opinion? Strike Three.

Basically, to sum it all up....your little rant proved my point. Hope you feel better about yourself now. I'd hate to think you feel less masculine due to a message board

BNutty... I was thinking the same thing

Congratulations you can read.

when it has been proven and admitted by you that you don't really know jackshit about Secondary play

When and how? That is in your mind man completely in your head. Am I an expert, no, I admit that but I can tell you that he was weak in coverage, and you can talk about the scheme all you want, but Ohio State is not constantly in a prevent defense (keep the play in front of you and make the tackle). At some point he should have broken up some passes.

To be clear again, now would be a good time for you to use your readin' skills, I had thought he was playing much better this year than he did last year. I think he is a good leader, he gave us more depth, he is a sure tackler, he deserves to be a captain. It is clear that I am not against him as a person, I don't even think he should be pulled off the field I am just don't think he is playing the right position CBs cover, it is what they do, be it a space in zone or a man, corners need to cover, consistantly he was getting to the WR too late to do anything but make a tackle. If you are just watching TV that is probably your problem because you can't see half the stuff I can see from C-Deck. Where Fox Improved, at least to this point, before he broke his arm, is he stayed with the WR enough that the QB decided not to throw the ball over there. He didn't break up the pass, but that was just as well. He still wasn't consistant enough however IMO.

This all started because someone said the pass defense got noticably worse when Fox left the game? Do you think it did, if you did I would encourage you to re watch the game. The running game improved but I don't think that had anything to do with the new CB other than the passing game was being taken away, 3&out 2-3Xs in a row before they figured it out. There was a blown coverage, which is a coachable correction and has nothing to do with ability. This was my original point. To say that the pass defense was worse is just plain wrong, and a stupid coment to make.

From that I get all of the Fox lovers trying to attack me, because I have eyes and can see what is going on. How are we to live without Fox, we need Fox, Fox is and NFL CB, Fox is great, how could anyone question Fox's greatness.

If you can't see the whole field then you just cannot understand. I think this comment says that you may have a problem with my opinion:

Stay on the couch and leave the actual football discussion alone. You are a joke.

To dismiss my comments like that shows you have a problem with it.

If I am juvenile then you are vain and self-righteous. Showing no respect at all, and that does piss me off. That may not upset you but just know that you are an ass hole, what comes out of ass holes? Big piles of shit. Which is what your opinion is worth.

Why the hell am I even responding, you will be to stupid to see what I am saying. Good luck with your issues man.

KillerNut: I don't see many, if any, folks saying Fox is an NFL-level corner. However, it is a fact that he is a solid and proven corner. The guy has never been beat deep for a TD. How many times in the last 28 game has he personally been beat for a TD, deep or not? By personally, I mean not where the man he was initally guarding gets passed to the other corner or the safeties but rather one-on-one all the way. You can count them all on one hand, and still have a finger to pick your ass (which seems to be what you're good at).

Dang Killer...you could be a DB yourself with all of that backpedalling.

I have shown you plenty of respect, but when you start calling people cheerleaders and stupid...you will get smacked back.

Do you honestly believe that your one shot view from C-Deck is more accurate than the television? Why would coaches always refer to film for true accuracy if this was true.

The sad thing here is how ridiculous you are making yourself look...pile of shit? Damn that's harsh. Almost as harsh and idiotic as a grown man trashing a kid who has played his guts out for this program. Damn if my opinion is worth shit...I would hate to guess where that ranks your stupidity.

Bottom line...my comment came from your initial comments. If that hurt your feelings, then watch what you say. For Christ's sake at least know your stuff before you go spouting off.

Milliani I don't have the time to go back and look at the tapes, (I don't even think I have them all), but I can tell you that because our Defense was very good he has been bailed out by pass rush sack/hurries, several times. Come to think of it how many TDs have we given up? It seems to me it hasn't been many.

If they drive the ball down the field throwing to Fox's side of the field then run the ball in, it still doesn't make him a good CB. I am not saying that is always what happend, (so I don't cause even more problems). I can think of at least 3 Gamble gave up, but those were from games we lost so they stick out more.

When younger players (Underwood and Youbouty) go to Fox for advise on playing the position, then he must be doing something right. Both Underwood and Youbouty have stated in the past that they listen and learn from Fox. I only remember Fox having one bad game and that was against Illinois when he played while being sick.

Uh, didn't Dantonio completely avoid Fox during the Cincy game? If there's any indicator of how good a CB is, it's when that CB's former DC comes back as head coach of the first opponent of the year and totally avoids said CB. If anyone would know of a weakness in Fox to exploit, it would be Dantonio.
