Which was the bigger loss...

I think Snyder can be as good as D'Antonio, he just needs some time, like I said next year will be the test. We have an average, or slightly above average defense this year, that is pretty good considering we have lots of new starters and a new coordinator. Our defense would be good enough to be undefeated if we had an average, or an above average offense. I know its not what we have been used to, but I cant fault anyone involved with the defense for not being able to cover for our pathetic offense. Let the blame fall where it belongs.

Few here would argue that D'Antonio was a master of half-time adjustments. It really doesn't matter which year you look at, it is clear that our defensive performance was markedly better in the 2nd half, especially the 3rd quarter.
Not exactly. The 2001 team gave up more points in the second half, 116/128. He was not a "master" his rookie year by any stretch, and we can't expect Snyder to be either. The 2004 team has a 44/48 ratio. Now, when D'Antonio and his defense got a year under their belts, the ratio dropped to 112/64 in 2002. (I didn't include OT points for either coordinator). Oh, and in 2003, D'Antonio's defense gave up more 4th quarter points alone than first half points, so I think "2nd half master" is quite a stretch.

I know people long for D'Antonio, but don't act like he came in and headed up a dominating defense, or even a dominating 2nd half defense, because it took him a year.

"master of half-time adjustments" and "2nd half master" are VERY different things.

Whether or not Snyder gets better is FAR from my point. I believe he will. NO WHERE have I said that we should get rid of him. My point was simply that Snyder is not covering for Bollman THIS YEAR the way that D'Antonio would have THIS YEAR.
