Its not only what Chris Speilman has done on the feild but also off the field to this day. Not only did this man have 29 tackles against of all teams M$chigan. That alone should make him a Buckeye elite, but its also how he has represented and made OSU proud of him and how he supported his wife in the most troubling times and now to this day he praises the Buckeyes to the fullest and shows his love for the game and for the Buckeyes on air each and every day. That is something !! Thats also not to deminish in any way these other great athletes who played and are great alumni too OSU.

dunno.. don't think we're being very fair to tOSU All-Time career tackling leader.. three years in a row leading team in tackles.. including 3 victories over scUM... Marcus Marek... an undersized overachiever...

I'm going with the 2 local boys;Gradishar and Marek. I can't believe anyone would put Kat ahead of Marek or Gradishar. I think alot of people either dont remember marek or forgot about him. ALL he ever did was make tackles !!

With all the great linebackers this school has has, to be the all time leading tackler, is pretty darn impressive.

Gradishar should be in the NFL Hall of Fame.

LBs at OSU chapel service

I was told by a player from my town that these 3 guys were all at the teams chapel service last week and supposidly were the best 3 OSU LBs as far as their NFL careers, something like a dozen All Pro selections between them. Players seem to think the NFL is the toughest test-like a final exam as to the best of the best. The 3 were Speilman, Gradishar and White Sr.

The collest thing is that these guys were back to back to back. I remember Marek and Spielman being in the same defensive backfield. The best replacing the best...awesome!
At the time I thought it was just an everday thing (a everySaturday thing), no big deal. Do I miss it? Not really, 'cause it's still happening....

I had to go with Spielman, Gradishar, Cousineau, Katzenmoyer, Wilhelm. As a very young boy, I found the play of Randy Gradishar to be quite inspiring. Besides the obvious skill he had, Wilhelm also showed tremendous leadership skill as a Sophomore calling out teammates before the Outback Bowl. The only tough choice for me was chooisng between Marek and the big Kat. I went with Kat, but it was tough.

As a College Player Marek deserves a mention, but Gradishar and Spielman are #! and #1A. I think Pepper Johnson does not get the respect he deserves. He was a great leader at OSU and especially in the Pros.Cousineau and Katzenmoyer did nbot maximize their talent.
