Jarrod Wyatt Murder Details: MMA Fighter Allegedly Ripped Out Victim's Heart

Jarrod Wyatt, a 26-year-old mixed martial arts fighter,
s accused of brutally murdering his 21-year-old friend,
Adam Powell. According to the Times-Standard,
prosecutors claim the pair took mushrooms along with
two other friends in late March. The paper reports that
witnesses say Powell and Wyatt "became preoccupied
with the idea that a tidal wave was coming, that the
end of the world was upon them and that a struggle
between God and the devil was taking place."

When police arrived, they found Wyatt naked and
covered in dried blood. According to an officer at the
scene, Wyatt admitted to cutting out his victim's
tongue and heart. Powell's corpse included an 18-inch
incision on his chest, and Wyatt allegedly said he
cooked the 21-year-old's heart in a wood stove
to "stop the devil."

If cutting the heart out of your friend's chest and cooking it to stop the devil is wrong....

Gabi Garcia 28 Pounds Overweight for Rizin Bout in Shocking Weigh-in Fai

The Rizin FF fight between women's heavyweight Gabi Garcia and 53-year-old pro wrestler-turned-politician Shinobu Kandori was already a strange one, but things got weirder at Thursday morning's weigh-in. In one of the worst weigh-in misses to ever take place in a major MMA promotion, Garcia tipped the scale at 237 pounds, a whopping 28 pounds over the 209-pound weight limit.

The egregious blunder left fans and media in attendance surprised, and Kandori—who checked in at 162 pounds—was incensed on stage:

The bout between Kandori and Garcia was officially cancelled just a few hours before the event. Garcia and Kandori both took the microphone during Thursday night's event, with Garcia suggesting she had health issues that forced her to abandon the cut. Rizin spokesperson Nobuhiko Takada suggested that the fight may be rescheduled for 2018.
