Who is your least favorite Buckeye of all time (not counting MoC)?

Wow. This thread has devolved into name calling and worse. People are even using the approach of giving people limited options for responding to their questions as if the other person is responsible for helping them make their point.

Who would have thought that a thread with the venerable title that this one carries would degenerate into this?

In my opinion, Robert Smith is one of the best things ever to happen to Ohio State athletics, and he gets a bad rap. For all the people who deride "Doctor Bob," where are the similar derisive comments about "Doctor Craig" (Krenzel)? Dare I suggest that racism may come into play?

I don't support the Robert Smith bashing but how do you draw a parallel between he and Krenzel other than both played football at OSU and didn't become doctors?

Well, that's pretty much the point, isn't it? Everyone bashes Robert because he didn't pursue the MD, but I never hear similar slams against Krenzel.
When OSU fans criticize Smith, it's for two things, neither of which has anything whatsoever to do with his ethnicity or his lack of a doctorate. He's criticized for, primarily, publicly criticizing the program, and secondarily, declining to play for a year. I personally am not critical of him for either of those things, because I think the point on which he criticized the program was, at the time, something that was probably both valid and worthy of examination. And as for his decision to not play, it's none of my business to criticize. But a lot of OSU fans will have a problem with it, correctly so in some cases, whenever any player publicly criticizes the program. And make no mistake about it: any hard feelings toward Smith have nothing to do with anything else, and are not comparable to Krenzel, who neither criticized the program nor declined to play.
