<fieldset class="fieldset"><legend>Key </legend>
[bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] - Paint The End Zones, He'll Be A Buckeye
[bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] - Very Good Chance
[bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] - Good Chance
[bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] - Slight Chance
[bucks]*[/bucks] - No Realistic Chance</fieldset>

QB Mark Sanchez

Nutty - [bucks]*[/bucks] "Sanchez is an excellent prospect and will give the Buckeyes a serious look but our offense and distance from home will be too much to overcome. Ryan Williams being on board already helps but isn't enough. Texas or USC is his likely school of choice." 7/18/04 Not unexpectedly, Sanchez committed to USC.

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks] "Mark had a positive visit in C-bus and he is friends & teammates with Buckeye verbal Ryan Williams. But USC is the hometown team and Bob Johnson who is Sanchez's HS coach is a big USC supporter. Petey doesn't even need the jet to recruit Mark. USC is a big favorite." 7/18/04- Unfortunately this one turned out as predicted.

RB Maurice Wells

Nutty - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] "Top running backs around the country should be drooling to come to Ohio State. There will be stiff competition from Georgia Tech and USC but Wells' family most likely wins out in the end and there will be another Maurice in the Buckeye backfield." 7/18/04 – All is quiet on the Wells front with tOSU, Georgia Tech and USC still leading the pack.

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] "The main competition for the Bucks is GTech. Plusses in GTech's favor include MoW having family in the Atlanta area, his HS coach is the son of a GTech coach and teammate Marvin Sapp is leaning towards GTech. But most of MoW's mother's family lives in the C-bus area and his father's family lives in Michigan which will be a big factor in leading MoW to tOSU. Besides who wouldn't want to be a star tailback in the Shoe??"

RB Mikell Simpson

Nutty - [bucks]*[/bucks] "Early playing time seems to be a very important factor for Simpson and that alone will make other schools a lot more attractive with guys like Antonio Pittman, Dennis Kennedy, and Erik Haw already in the mix. Don't look for Simpson in Columbus. Penn State could be a likely destination."

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks] "Mikell has expressed casual interest in tOSU and seems to be wide open. If we can secure an on campus visit there is a chance to sway him to the Buckeyes. But Coach Daniels has a lot of work to do." 7/18/04 - Very little interest so we are removing him from the list.

WR Derrick Williams

Nutty - [bucks]*[/bucks] "Most of the top schools in the country will be fighting to land Williams. Our passing woes eliminate us from consideration. Derrick probably stays somewhere down south. Williams is an unbelievable athlete we'll be watching on Sundays in a few years."

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks] "tOSU will have a tough time securing this big time athlete but they have done a good job recruiting Maryland and he would have a chance to be a featured receiver in Columbus. It is not likely but again if we get a campus visit there is a remote chance Derrick could be a Buckeye." 7/18/04 - His father came out with a top 5 and tOSU wasn’t on it- scuttlebutt says it is Florida, Maryland and possibly PSU as possible destinations- but never count out Petey and the jets. We took him off the list

WR Selwyn Lymon

Nutty - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] "Getting a kid on campus always increases our chances and Lymon was supposed to be in Columbus for the senior advanced camp. I think he ends up at Purdue but if Zwick or Smith has a big year and Lymon enjoys his visit to Ohio State you just never know."

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] "Selwyn is one of Purdue's top recruiting targets and will be very difficult to pull away from the Boilermakers. But his camp visit is a good sign and it shows his interest in the Buckeyes. It seems like the Buckeye coaches have targeted Selwyn as WR they want in this class." 7/18/04- It is still down to PU, scum and tOSU, Chris Pool feels it is down to PU and scum and I agree.

OL Kevin Bemoll

Nutty - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] "With his teammate Ryan Williams already committed to the Buckeyes and the fact Bemoll is visiting with him in July, our chances are decent. I think he ends up at Florida because he has family in the Sunshine State but we should be in it for a while." 7/18/04 – Ryan Williams gets a big assist for the Buckeyes landing Bemoll. Here’s proof of what a visit to Columbus can do.

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] "He seems to like Florida but the tie in with his best friend (Ryan Williams) committing to tOSU will be a strong factor in the Buckeyes favor. With a good visit in July and two friends dreaming of what it would be like to play at the next level together, Bemoll could end up being a Buckeye." 7/18/04- He had a good visit and now he is a Buck.

OL Dan Doering

Nutty - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] "Doering really enjoyed his visit to Columbus, complete with seeing a Buckeye jersey with his name on the back hanging from a locker. We are one of the many schools recruiting him and have a chance, albeit a small one." Doering probably ends up a Hawkeye.

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] "He had a good visit and he has a cousin who attends tOSU. The key seems to be whether we can build on this recent momentum by securing one of his remaining official visits. But he has been to Iowa 5 times already and he seems to like ND. They seem like the logical choices."

DT Callahan Bright

Nutty - [bucks]*[/bucks] "Bright is a beast and is easily one of the more impressive lineman I've seen on film this year. He lists us as one of his favorites but early on in the process Bright mentioned he wanted to play in warm weather. We should be attractive to any d-lineman across the country but depth and the fact it gets a little chilly in Columbus from time to time doesn't help our cause."

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks] "He is one of the top Dlinemen in the country and could name his school if he qualifies. Early indications lead to a Miami lean." 7/18/04 - He has expressed very little interest in the Bucks and we are replacing him with Ashley on the best case projection list.

DE Melvin Alaeze

Nutty - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] "Alaeze has offers from just about everyone, including the Buckeyes. He currently does not list any favorites but the Buckeyes were on his list early on. Melvin is one of the best looking DE prospects I've seen on film this year with unbelievable size and quickness. Hopefully we can be one of the lucky 5 to get a visit."

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] "We appear to have slipped with Melvin and our depth could hurt us with him. USC could be a factor but it is too early to say where he is leaning. The key is to get a visit." 7/18/04 - We are a very big long shot so we replaced him w/Worthington on the projection list.

LB Brian Cushing

Nutty - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] "We've been one of Cushing's favorites for a while now but teams like Florida State and Virginia are making strong pitches. Cushing is supposed to visit Columbus some time this summer and that should help us. Gotta love a LB with safety speed. Hopefully Hazell can work some magic."

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] "He is up to 50 offers and he has a sub 4 shuttle time. Incredible athlete who has the ability to play safety but has a LB body. Hopefully a visit with AJ Hawk, Carpenter etc. al could sway him to the Bucks but I sense Virginia and USC will be the teams to beat."

LB/S Freddie Lenix

Nutty - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] "Where else would a top Glenville prospect end up with Coach Tressel at the helm? When he gets his offer, Lenix - Buckeye!" 7/18/04 - There were reports Lenix has a verbal offer. Just a matter of time...

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] "He will be offered and will choose tOSU. He might cause us moments of doubts with the talk of the Gators but the Glenville gang will make sure he is a Buckeye. Paint the end zones!!"

DL Curtis Smith

Nutty - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] "If he qualifies and is offered - Buckeye! He is from Glenville after all."

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] "Assuming he qualifies and is offered he will be a Buckeye. Is there a doubt??"

WR Brian Hartline

Nutty - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] "Hartline has made it clear...if he's offered he's coming to Ohio State. Just a matter or time, IMO." 7/18/04 – Hartline impressed at camp and received an offer and committed. Congrats to Brian.

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] "PAINT THE ENDZONES-He is a Buckeye to the core and has done all the right things this recruiting season. If he is offered (and I believe he will be) then he will be a Buckeye." 7/18/04 - He made it official. Congrats Brian!!

LB Rico McCoy

Nutty - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] "McCoy is one of the better linebackers I've seen on film this year. Very athletic and hits like a truck. Miami and Ohio State were his co-leaders early on. The Canes will be tough to beat but it's likely he will make an official here and we could use a LB or two. McCoy would be a great get." 7/18/04 – McCoy still lists Ohio State and Miami as his favorite. The Buckeyes should provide a better opportunity to play early on but Miami will still be hard to beat. Maryland could also be a factor before it’s over.

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] "He seems to like the "flash" of the Canes which could hurt the Buckeyes chances. But tOSU was on him early and has recruited his state very hard which will help their chances. But in the end I think he is a Cane." 7/18/04 - He seems to understand that he can play early in C-bus but we will have some stiff competition from Miami and Maryland.

CB/RB Justin King

Nutty - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] "Being recruited by just about everyone, King is probably a scUM lean right now. He prefers CB but at this point the Buckeyes want him as a RB. He will be at the senior advanced camp and hopefully likes what he sees. What corner wouldn't want to go to school at Ohio State? I suppose we'll have to tell him he can play corner if we want a more realistic shot at him. scUM and Penn State seem more likely right now." 7/18/04 – King visited Columbus for camp but didn’t participate. It’s been learned he’s friends with Devon Lyons which could help our cause.

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] "This year's top shut down corner. scUM and PSU have him as their no. 1 recruiting targets and both desperately need a top flight athlete at CB. King's step-dad played for Joe Paterno which will help PSU's case. tOSU seems to be hurting themselves by recruiting King as a RB, he prefers CB. But even if tOSU offers him as a CB it seems unlikely that he will spurn either PSU or scUM for the Buckeyes."

DB Adam Myers-White

Nutty- [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] "I suspect AMW will end up at Ohio State to play with the Underwood brothers but there is talk he likes scUM and Notre Dame so it may be a little early to paint the end zones. We are loaded in the secondary but AMW would be another excellent addition. In the end AMW stays home and becomes a Buckeye." 7/18/04 – Myers-White has an updated top 5 that doesn’t include scUM. I like our chances even more.

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] "AMW wants to take all his visits so tOSU will have to sweat out the recruiting process. The ability to play earlier at other schools could sway him but in the end the allure of playing with his hometown team and friends will be make him a Buckeye."

DB Shawn Oatis

Nutty - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] "Oatis has liked Notre Dame and Ohio State for a while. I think the depth in our secondary hurts our cause unless he wants to be a RB. He's a big hitter from his safety position and is a nice RB prospect. I think he ends up playing for the Domers."

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] "He has ND and tOSU as co-favorites and it appears like he would like to leave California. ND is offering him earlier playing time but tOSU is offering him a chance to win sooner and good track record to the next level. I think he goes to ND in the end but tOSU should make it a battle."

ATH Alex Daniels

Nutty - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] "In the end the Buckeyes have just as much to offer as Oklahoma and the other schools Alex is high on, and Ohio State is right in his backyard."

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] "OU seems to be the main competition. They have done a good job recruiting him and his current teammate Keith Massey. But in the end Alex should choose the Bucks, his hometown team." 7/18/04 - I am reducing to 3 buckeye leaves- I think the threat of OU and others is significant. tOSU still looks good but they have their work cut out for them.

OL Ronnie Wilson

Nutty - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] "HH reports Wilson has an offer and is really high on the Buckeyes and may commit. It's a long time between now and signing day and other schools will make their pitch. It looks good right now." 7/18/04 – Wilson received an official offer from Ohio State but will take some visits before making his selection. He would be an awfully nice addition to what could be the top OL class in the nation.

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] "HH feels Ronnie is leaning toward the Buckeyes but he does have a coach that is an ex-Gator. So if things don't work out with tOSU he could be headed to Florida."

QB Rob Schoenhoft

Nutty - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] "People are all over the board on Schoenhoft but it may not matter as Rob seems to be leaning to scUM. I wasn't overly impressed with his video but there must be something there to garner so many offers and an Elite 11 invite. I think he ends up at Ann Arbor. 7/18/04 – Rob’s decision could come any day and he’s down to Ohio State and scUM as his top 2 with the Buckeyes being his leader. Not sure why I’m nervous about this one but it does seem all signs point to Ohio State.

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] "In spite of a 37% completion percentage last season Rob has earned some big time offers including tOSU and scUM. He has favored scUM for awhile but their depth chart appeared to scare him but that seems to have dissipated and he is probably headed to tsun."- 7/18/04 - I am raising to 3 buckeye leaves. Things look promising with Rob. The scum depth chart seems to be a real concern to him so he could be headed to the good guys. We should know very soon.

FB Matt Clapp
Nutty - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] "We've been in on him for a while and he even attended a Fiesta Bowl practice last year. He could be an H-back for us and we could use him as a hammer late in the game to run clock. If Clapp gets an offer I think he probably ends up coming here."

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] "Assuming he has camped with us he probably has a tOSU offer. He built a relationship with the coaches at the Fiesta Bowl which could lead to him becoming a Buckeye. tOSU has stiff competition from Oklahoma and the home state Arizona teams. It should be a good battle." 7/18/04 -I am reducing to 2 buckeye leaves and removing him from the projection list. He went to camp and did not get a tOSU offer. There is still a chance tOSU offers after seeing a few games but it seems others (OU, Arizona teams) might want him a little more.

WR Brian Robiskie

Nutty - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] "With Robiskie's father being an NFL coach you'd have to assume he knows the game. He has good size and great hands. Rumor has it if he runs a good 40 he'll probably get a Buckeye offer. I think if he gets one he accepts."

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] "Brian is big and strong with good receiving skills. If he shows enough speed he could be a Buckeye. If not he could be a Nittany Lion." 7/18/04 -I am reducing to 3 buckeye leaves and removing from the projection list. Miami has reportedly offered and will be tough to beat.

New Names to the Projection list (either best case and most likely)

QB/ATH Carlton Jackson

Nutty - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “There has been no official word on whether Jackson has received a written offer but if he does he will most likely be a Buckeye.

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] " He camped with Ronnie Wilson and earned a Buckeye offer. There is a good chance he could be tOSU’s 2nd QB/ATH after he takes all his visits"

WR Andre Amos

Nutty - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “It will come down to scUM, Purdue and the Bucks. Amos claims he will play either corner or receiver and that he just wants to see the field. If he wants to play corner he likely ends up at scUM. If he wants to play receiver either Purdue or Ohio State. Whether he picks the Buckeyes likely depends on how his official visit to Columbus goes.

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] "His three favorites are scUM , tOSU and Purdue. SCum wants him as a DB while tOSU and Purdue want him as a WR. He claims he will play anywhere. He slightly favors PU but that might be because he has visited there and his ex-teammate goes there. Let’s see what happens after his tOSU visit.”

DT Walker Ashley

Nutty - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] "USC, Penn State, and Ohio State are the schools to beat. He really enjoyed his visit to USC and has father went to Penn State. It will be interesting to see how his visit to Columbus goes. We should be in it for a while."

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “His favorites include USC, PSU, Minny, tOSU. He is very appreciative of tOSU offering first but the family ties to PSU and the friendship of Walker's dad and Petey Carroll will be pretty tough to beat."

DE Doug Worthington

Nutty - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “Things are looking good for the Buckeyes as far as Worthington is concerned. He was really impressed with his visit to Columbus this summer and the Bucks lead. I seem to recall the last D-lineman we got from New York being pretty good.”

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] "Doug had a great camp visit. He bonded with Todd Denlinger and Alex Boone. If he it was up to this father he would be a Buckeye. I have to agree with his father, I think we have a good chance with Doug."

DE Lawrence Wilson

Nutty - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “After an impressive camp outing Wilson went from relatively unknown to the latest Buckeye offer. Will Thad Matta let Wilson play basketball? I say yes and Wilson ends up a Buckeye.”

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] "Lawrence earned an offer at camp. He wants to play Fball and Bball and ND/Pitt have offered him that opportunity. In the end the tOSU will do the same and he will be a Buckeye "

LB Andre Mathis

Nutty - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “We really need a LB or two in this class considering we lose Schlegel, Carp, D’Andrea and Hawk to graduation after the 2005 season, maybe earlier if one of them jumps to the NFL. He likes Tennessee and Penn State but after a visit to the Horseshoe for a game this fall I think he picks the Buckeyes.”

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] "tOSU is in his top 4 and we are the closest (along with PSU) to Erie. It probably comes down to tOSU and PSU with Tenn being a dark horse. He could be our best chance at an OOS LB target.

DB Malcolm Jenkins

Nutty - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “Jenkins received an offer after camp. He must have looked impressive considering the corners we haven’t offered. Va Tech and Rutgers are nice schools but they are not Ohio State. If the depth chart doesn’t scare him away I think he ends up here.”

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] "tOSU is in his top 3 with Va Tech and Rutgers. tOSU has now offered and have a good chance at a commitment.”

nice job. Now if you REALLY wanted to go the extra yard - I'd add, where applicable, the battle for recruits that OSU and scUM are after with the views from the "other" side on those recruits only. just a thought to get a second opinion.
