Maurice Wells

Nutty - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] "USC, Georgia Tech and the Buckeyes continue to be in his top 3 and his choice will likely come from one of them. A chance to play early and family in the area gives Ohio State an excellent shot. Ohio State is recruiting him harder than his other two favorites and in the end I think Wells is a Buckeye."

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “tOSU is recruiting MoW the hardest but they will have tough competition from GTech and USC. But it is clear that he is a tOSU priority and I like their chances.”

Andre Amos

Nutty - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] "Amos will take an official visit to both Purdue and Ohio State and then will make his decision. Purdue has a bunch of receivers on the roster but what they have in quantity they lack in quality. With Childress and Hollins about to graduate and the possibility Santonio could leave early after a big year we could use a couple receivers in this class. I think Amos picks Ohio State."

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “Amos has eliminated scUM and it comes down to tOSU and Purdue. He will visit tOSU for the Cincy game and he will visit Purdue the following weekend. A decision should come after those visits. In the end I think he chooses his home state team over the possibility to play with his friend at Purdue.”

Selwyn Lymon

Nutty - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] "Lymon continues to list Ohio State as one of his favorites but Purdue and scUM still have to be considered the frontrunners for his services. Lymon's coach was quoted as saying he believes Lymon will end up at Purdue and I agree. scUM has already Manningham and Savoy and although you wouldn't think they would turn Lymon away they seem pretty set at WR. Hopefully the Buckeyes can get a visit out of him."

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “I would have to agree with Lymon’s coach that it would be a major surprise if he ended up anywhere but Purdue. Selwyn and J.B. Paxson are probably the two top players on Purdue’s board this year and they have recruited Lymon very hard. scUM is already having a good year at WR while tOSU still has to fight the stigma of being seen as a “run first” team. They will both be on the outside looking in for Selwyn.”

Adam Myers White

Nutty - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] "A lot of people seem to be worried that Myers-White is the Fred Davis of this class. I might be wrong but I'm not one of those people. A recent trip to Purdue has moved the Boilers into AMW's top 3. In the end I think Ohio State has too much to offer (Location, Playing with the Underwood’s, Mel Tucker) and after he takes his visits I think AMW picks the Buckeyes."

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “AMW will have us on the edge of our seats for awhile but in the end there seems to be no valid reason he would not choose tOSU. He has an opportunity to play with ex-teammates, in his home state, for a NC and for a team with a history of putting DB’s in the NFL. Petey out there lurking will cause some anxiety but he will be a Buckeye.”

Shawn Oatis

Nutty - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] "Oatis recently took a trip to Arizona and came away really impressed. Ohio State and Notre Dame were his clear favorites early on but teams like Arizona, Oregon, and Oklahoma are in the mix. Early on I really liked the Buckeyes chances, and still do, but it may be tougher than I once thought. An official visit to Columbus on October 22nd gives us a great shot."

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “Currently tOSU has the last visit but there is a good chance that will change and he will be adding more teams to his visit list. The Pac 10 teams seem to be a real threat to tOSU and ND. We do have Ryan Williams and dad working in tOSU’s favor and a game day visit to the Shoe will be awfully tough to beat. I still think he becomes a Buckeye.”

Rico McCoy

Nutty - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] "It looks like Ohio State and Miami will be the teams to beat in the McCoy sweepstakes. It would be really nice to tap in to the DC area and pull out a top prospect like McCoy. Rico seems very aware of the depth chart at Ohio State and he has to know how many young linebackers Miami has on its roster. I think we have a really good shot at McCoy but you can't count out the Canes."

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “tOSU is working Maryland and the NE a lot harder this year. They have done a good job selling Rico on the benefits of tOSU and the opportunity he has to play early in his career. But the “flash” of Miami seems tempting to him, even though he knows he won’t play as early there. Let’s hope Corny Greene and son will continue helping us and a game day visit closes the sale.”

Andre Mathis

Nutty - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] "I have not seen an update on Mathis in some time. Our depth chart has to be appealing to any young LB. After a red shirt year there will be a bunch of PT available as a freshmen. Mathis has mentioned he wants to play for a big time school and we're the top program on his list. Hopefully Coach Daniels can build on last year's success in PA."

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “We seem to have the most to offer among his favorites- C-bus is close to home, he can play with other W. PA players, he has the opportunity at early playing time and a chance to win early. On paper we should have a good chance but it seem too early to make a call on Andre. Hopefully we get a better feel after a few official visits.”

Justin King

Nutty - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] "Everything points to scUM and Penn State right now. They have been recruiting him the hardest and they don't have the depth at CB the Buckeyes have. It was interesting to find out he is friends with Devon Lyons, and while that helps, it's probably not enough. Hopefully he makes an official visit to Columbus for a game. King has to be considered a long shot at this point."

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “I guess it doesn’t seem very likely that he will choose tOSU. But I am still holding out hope that he will want to play with his friends Teddy, Jamario and Devon. I think in the back of his mind he knows that he could be part of an incredible group of skill players at tOSU. But I don’t really think that will be enough and it will be either scUM or PSU. I think PSU could be the choice if they start winning early and he could commit with a few other high end talents like D. Williams and Nyan Boateng.”

Sean Smalls

Nutty - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] "Smalls recently named Ohio State his leader over Penn State. Not sure how the Malcolm Jenkins verbal changes things. Smalls has the size and speed The Buckeyes will covet in a Mark Snyder defense. If Smalls is not scared away by our depth he could very well be the next in a long line of quality cornerbacks on the roster."

86 – [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “I would have this at 4 leaves until Jenkins committed. But now I wonder if he is less interested or if tOSU pulls away from Sean. I wouldn’t have predicted 3 CB recruits at the beginning of the recruiting season but we do have more schollies to offer now and Smalls could be too big of a talent to pass up.”

Alex Daniels

Nutty - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] "News on the Daniels front has been less than promising recently. It appears Daniels' Mom wants him to leave the area and Daniels really likes Bo Pelini and Oklahoma. Not sure I follow the reasoning but if behavior off the field is a worry for his own Mom losing out on Daniels might not be horrible. You never want to lose a kid from your back yard with the talent Daniels' possesses. Hopefully the Buckeye coaching staff can reassure Mom after the quiet period is over. Daniels has conceded that he will be a LB in college."

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “Well the threat of Oklahoma has become more real. Daniels has been in touch with OU while he has not talked to tOSU in awhile. He claims that his mom will be responsible for 50% of the decision and she appears to favor OU. It seems appealing to her that he gets away from bad influences in his hometown of C-bus. He also has friendships w/former C-bus HS BBall players that are at OU. I feel there is a good chance he ends up with the Sooners.”

Ronnie "Taz" Wilson

Nutty - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] "Taz appears to be extremely interested in the Buckeyes and will make an official visit during the weekend of the scUM game. If being in the Horseshoe and watching the biggest rivalry in all of sports isn't enough to sway Ronnie to the Buckeyes then it wasn't meant to be. Adding Wilson to this class would give the Buckeyes their best O-line class in recent memory."

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “Posters of BP have gotten to know Taz a little bit in the last few weeks. He seems like a great young man and would be a great asset to tOSU. He has planned an unofficial visit for the Cincy game and an official visit for the scUM game. Hopefully we put on a good show for him and he decides on calling C-bus his home for the next four/five years.”

Brian Cushing

Nutty - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] "The only reason I didn't give him 1 Buckeye leaf is because I'm not ready to say we have no shot but at this point thinks don't look good. Virginia is his leader and is making a very strong push in landing his services. USC is also in the mix. Cushing still has the Buckeyes on his list and hopefully they can get a visit out of him. At this point things don't look great but things certainly could change."

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks] “I am not too optimistic that Brian will choose the Bucks. There is some talk that he is a silent verbal to Virginia (to play with his friend Eugene Monroe) and he has had some positive discussions with USC where he claims he almost verbaled. VA and USC are his leaders. I guess the only hope is that we get that elusive visit from Brian and really blow him away.”

CJ Jackson

Nutty - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] "Jackson has been quoted as saying he was offered to play QB by Ohio State and he's pretty adamant about wanting to play QB at the next level. Early PT will also be a factor in his decision. With Zwick and Smith still having 2 years of eligibility and Boeckman and Schoenhoft on the roster it makes you wonder how much early PT will be available. Jackson has the versatility to play a number of positions though and would be an excellent addition to this class."

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “It seems like there is mutual interest between tOSU and CJ (who claims a tOSU offer). But is tOSU looking for a 2nd QB only prospect in this recruiting period? I question this and wonder if they want CJ more for his versatility. If they can come to an agreement on his role on the team I think there could be a good chance that CJ will be a Buckeye.”

Dan Doering

Nutty - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] "Doering made an unofficial visit to Columbus this summer and hit it off with Coach Tressel. Notre Dame and Iowa lead and the Buckeyes currently are not scheduled to get an official visit out of Doering. He would be an unbelievable get but it does not seem likely at this point."

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks] – “IMO he will verbal to either Iowa or ND soon. My money is on Iowa. I think he has visited there about seven times now.”

Javon Ringer, Curtis Smith, Freddie Lenix, Antwon Hight , Kendall Davis

Nutty - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] "If these 5 excellent Ohio prospects are offered I believe all 5 will be Buckeyes. Hopefully they all get the job done in the classroom."

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] – I agree with Nutty. Javon appears willing to wait on tOSU and if he convinces tOSU that he is not an academic risk then he will get an offer. If tOSU gets both Wilson and Worthington it could hurt C. Smith’s chances but somehow I think they will find a place for this talent (if he makes the grades). Lenix is a bit of a tweener but he is such a great talent and with a possible miss on Daniels it could open the door for a Lenix offer. Hight might be the best talent of the five but the biggest long shot. The word is that he doesn’t have much of a chance at an offer. Davis could be in the same boat but unlike Hight he has gone to summer school and has a tutor. But with the recent CB verbals it seems more and more unlikely that tOSU will offer.”

Walker Ashley

Nutty - [bucks]*[/bucks] "Ashley has an official visit set up for Columbus in December. There is a lot of talk message board talk that he's already made his decision. I don't think he comes here. Look for USC to land his signature with Penn State being a close second."

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “He has loyalty to tOSU for an early offer and has set up a Dec. visit. But it appears he is headed west. Petey was a coach for the Vikings when Walker’s dad played there. Walker also called his USC visit this spring as his best of the off-season (some think he committed on this trip).”

Doug Worthington

Nutty - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] "Worthington loved his visit to Ohio State this summer and hit it off with Alex Boone and Todd Denlinger. His Dad likes the Buckeyes and at one point we were named his leader. Worthington's team has a couple of games scheduled in Ohio this year. I think he'll be playing a bunch of games in Ohio in the years to come after he picks the Buckeyes."

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “I think this one looks good for the Bucks. We have recruited him very hard and he has already built relationships with Boone and Denlinger. I think we could get commitment in the early fall.”

Lawrence Wilson

Nutty - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] "Wilson almost pulled the trigger last week but has decided to take some visits. That bodes well for the Buckeyes. It appears his favorites are Ohio State, Notre Dame and Pitt. Wilson would like to play basketball in college and Coach Tressel has proven in the past with Nate Salley that he will allow that. Hopefully Coach Matta has room for him and Wilson ends up a Buckeye."

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “The fact that he delayed his decision last week was a positive for the Bucks. IMO, if tOSU will allow him to play BBall like ND and Pitt, we stand a good chance with Wilson. Maybe Sian Cotton (former SVSM teammate) can help with his recruitment. If we get him on campus for a game day visit he will have a tough time turning us down.”

Jonathan Stewart

Nutty - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] "Stewart is one of the more impressive running backs I've seen on film this year. He has tremendous size, vision, and speed for a big man and his balance is second to none. He has mentioned he would like a Buckeye offer and if he got one he'd be interested in visiting. Even if that offer comes I suspect it will be difficult to land him. He does have the size for a RB that so many Buckeye fans crave."

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “ There is not a lot of evidence that tOSU is interested and pursuing Jonathan but if they do Stewart appears receptive. He would be the big back that we are looking for.”

Mikell Simpson

Nutty - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] "Simpson has stated he has a verbal offer from the Buckeyes but nothing in writing yet. He mentioned if he gets that offer he would give the Buckeyes a serious look. Playing time has been mentioned as an important factor for him and I'm not sure how much he'd get with Pittman and Haw in the mix, not to mention Wells. I still think he ends up elsewhere but it's early."

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “He seems interested but is waiting for his written offer. He has the versatility that JT like with the ability to play RB, WR and DB. If we can get him on campus for a visit I think we have as good a shot as anyone on his favorite list.”

Travis Beckum

Nutty - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] "Beckum lists Ohio State in his top 4 and could possibly visit this fall. Our LB situation should be attractive to any top LB prospect. After following Rhyan Anderson's recruitment last year it's clear the Oak Creek staff has an affinity for Miami. Beckum is probably a Cane if offered."

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “Probably the top player in Wisconsin. He could play OLB as well grow into a DE/LEO position. tOSU has made his top four but I think he heads to Miami if he gets an offer (along with Raymond Henderson-who also has an offer from the Canes).”

Melvin Alaeze

Nutty - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] "Alaeze has offers from schools all over the country. Ohio State is one of the schools he's considering for an official visit this fall. As long as he's mentioning the Buckeyes there is a chance but in the end I think he ends up elsewhere."

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks] “Melvin seems wide open but he mentions others a lot more frequently than the Bucks. If we get a visit we stand a chance but I don’t think it is likely.”

Kade Weston
Nutty - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] "Weston has a list of favorites and Ohio State is about the only school in the North he's still mentioning. We have an embarrassment of riches at the DT position so missing out on Weston shouldn't hurt too much."

86 - [bucks]*[/bucks][bucks]*[/bucks] “He seems to like the Southern teams but we may have an ace in the hole with Coach Hazell. I am still holding out hope that he can bring Kade in for a visit, then the SHOE will do the rest. Long shot but I think we stay in the running a while longer.”

Great stuff again guys. I especially like the 5-pack pick of Ohio recruits with 5 Buckeye Leafs ... nice. Lots of other "wish list" guys in there, but I'm really hoping to see a "Taz" on the back of an OSU jersey and another Maurice in the pipeline.
