I don't think the criticism on this board applies to knumbnuts. I think most of us realize the youth of the team and that the future is bright. A loss to NW is a hrrible loss and should be viewed that way considering we haven't lost to them in 30 years.

There is no question we have the talent to play anybody in the country if we are at our best. I think the frustration comes from us playing a team with alot less talent after a bye week and we come out an look worse at every phase of the game, especially defense.

When I watch games I see teams putting 8-9 guys in the box against Minny and Wisky and it still doesn't matter. They run the fucking ball. People are seeing that it isn't just the players its the coaching and scheme. It's a sad day when Indiana has a better running game than us.

If you don't have something don't pretend you do!!! I'm not saying don't run the ball but damn at least run some different types of running plays. Play to the strength of your team. The fans are not saying be in the shotgun formation every down but damn at least throw on first down sometimes and use the TE on some plays.

I'm optimistic and belive that we can win the rest of our games but it all starts this weekend. If we look like a well oiled machine this weekend it may have been a fluke but alot of improvement needs to be done.

While this thread is mostly accurate (especially as it relates to sucknuts), I personally was, and still am, upset at the coaches. I was absolutely astounded when basically no changes were made at halftime. To me, once it had become evident that our front four were completely incapable of getting into the same zip code as their QB, some changes to the scheme should have been made. Playing a soft zone, when the QB has all day to throw the ball, is simply asinine. I definitely do not believe any coaching changes should be made, but agree that Snyder should move upstairs (for starters). Mix in a couple of blitzes (and not the same blitz every second down) from the LB's and/or safeties, and let your "talented" corners man up. Tressel has had nothing but compliments for EJ, so let him play on the island, and get some effing pressure on the QB!

Dear Mr. Geiger,
I got your email address off of a website. I decided it would be both helpful and productive to bitch and moan to you until you force Coach Tressel to fire coach Bollman. We lost one game that we should have won easily, so that must mean he is at fault. I believe writing an email to you will be the best way to solve this problem, because obviously you are a man who got as far in life as you have by listening to lynch mobs on some second rate message board website. Most successful people get ahead in life by listening to the ones who whine and bitch despite the fact that they have never coached football before.....some who haven't ever played it. But if we all send you an email demanding you fire Bollman (since we are all in that mighty authoritative position to demand things from you), I believe we will get what we want accomplished.

If you ever need anything decided for you, just ask me. I know everything about everything, especially when my job isn't on the line.

P.S. Can you also force Coach Tressel to run Pittman more, but only if he gains about 6 yards per carry. Otherwise that is a stupid move and I will be forced to email you about the firing of RB Coach Tressel.

Three of the o-lineman from last year are in the NFL and two of them are starting! We had the talent just very poor o-line coaching! JB needs re-assigned and the zone-blocking crap needs to be thrown out the window! Like Mr. Spielman said on the roundtable this week, nobody on the o-line is pushing anyone on the defensive side of the ball back whatsoever - The real question is will JT realize this and correct it - let Coach Peterson take over the o-line immediately!

Brian Williams wrapped up his fact checking from the debate tonight, and agreed to check the charges leveled against us by buckzip. Here are his results;

It's true there was a fair amount of talk about BNuts during the bannings, but I think that's to be expected when Kirk and Lee are tossing their own forum rules out the window and banning people for no other reason than they don't like what they were saying. And doing so without offering any explanation, despite flat out owing some of those people for the growth of their site. But these days? Of 5,012 available posts, maybe 2 or 3 deal directly with BNuts? Let's go nuts and call it 20-30. So 25. That's 0.4 percent. Almost (but not quite) half of 1%. Maybe that's what he meant by half the time. Lol.

I don't think I know 'averything' about football, but I know more than Buckzip, so I guess I can't argue that point at all. :biggrin: I don't know squat compared to quite a few people on this (or many other) board(s) though, and don't claim that I do. In fact, I see people here going out of their way to NOT call themselves gurus or experts, despite their willingness (guys like osugrad21 and exhawg come to mind because of their blogs, but there are quite a few) to share some of their experience and insight. Better yet, people here are driven to actually contribute to the community they enjoy. I bet someone could slap a pricetag on the outstanding game previews a whole group of people here do, or on the blogs that dozens of others do. I know without a shadow of a doubt that I could sell access to the upcoming stats engine. But it's not about adding to the millions made by taking advantage of people already suffering financial hardship by running an OSU fan site -- it's about being a family of responsible fans who enjoy the season, enjoy talking, and sure, in the right time and place, under the right circumstances, enjoy talking about other things like politics.

This site was started a good 8 months before anyone here was kicked off that site. So that's out of left field too.

Finally, I *love* that the fanboys feel the need to defend the great and mighty Bucknuts Media Network against little ole BuckeyePlanet. That it's someone who always had an issue with me because of his own shortcomings is just icing on the cake.

We're not trying to be Bucknuts, so why bother comparing at all? Two totally different approaches and atmospheres. BP works for some folks, BN works for others, both work for quite a few as well. So what?


For the record: Much of this is meant in jest. Buckzip and I enjoyed a number of exchanges on BNuts during the time we were both on that site, and I think for the most part it was in good humor. He's a good guy, and I don't fault him at all for being proud of the part of the community he frequents. Hell, he could hate me and hate BP (doesn't sound like he does though), and I still wouldn't take much issue with it. I'll leave the umbrage to Stevie and crew. So lest anyone misunderstand, no bile here towards BN as a site or community. Sure, I think Kkri Lrarebe needs to come down a few inches on the high heels because the spikes make him cranky, but that's an entirely different issue. (See, more joking.)

My reply in that thread since it will most likely be deleted soon.

First, thanks for the kind words KSB.

Second, I stop by and read on occasion here at BNs. There are still quality people here I like to hear from. For some the sites are mutually exclusive and there is a dislike for the other. I for one (and many others agree) think both sites serve the Buckeye community and foster the notion that "the more things Buckeye, the better".

Third, the Planet was started well before Mili, Tibor or Clarity (and almost any others) were shown the door here. It was NOT started once people left. People left once it started.

Fourth, I found it increasingly difficult to post on BNs because I had evolved into a negative member, always trying to correct percieved wrongs from flammer, trolls and idiots. I didn't really like what I was becoming here and needed an extended break.

Fifth, the two sites have many differences noted by zip. What we share is a love for the Buckeyes. While zip seems to think everyone at the Planet talks about BNs, that is not really the case. I would submit that there, you have the choice to talk about almost any topic (including Bucknuts). That is not often the case here. I would also guess this thread will be locked or deleted soon simply because it deals with Mili, Tibor and BuckeyePlanet.

I hope all my friends here at Bucknuts are doing well.

I didn't want to start anything C...It just really sets me off when people talk crap about things that they have no clue about. Especially when it bashes my friends and people who's voice to defend themselves was taken away. I know most of you could care less what a few mindless lemmings think...but it made me feel a little better.

We love this site Clarity!

Lol, let's not. I'm proud of the level of discourse we generally enjoy here. I'm sure that brought out into the sunlight a guy like zip could reform and contribute, but you can't help those who aren't ready to effect change in their lives.
