Yeah, you really need the right pics to appreciate the Sloth/Dudley parallel. I still don't quite have them, but these are the closest I've found yet.

Well if you are familiar with Bucknuts and post there often then I am not sure how you don't know who these people are. Bucknuts is Kirk's name on the forums, he is basically the guy in charge of all the web-related stuff and main Admin dealing with bannings. Mr.Bucknuts (again his forum name) is Lee Schear (google him sometime), the owner of Bucknuts.com and as Clarity said he was the analogous Oz he was refering to.

They're the original two "staff" at Bucknuts. Lee decided to put an OSU fansite together, and contacted Kirk to act as webmaster. Together they 'founded' the site, and continue to be the key folks behind it. At least Lee is, I can't speak to Kirk's capacity, except to be scapegoat for decisions bigger than his own (and scapegoat for his own as well) -- basically he's the human shield, lol. I still joke with Kirk in the same humor I used to, the only real difference is that the dynamic of the non-relationship between us requires his perception of it to be hostile. Which it is sometimes, but that's me even with friends. Lol. (I think it all stems back to my kicking his ass in fantasy football). When you see "Bucknuts" post on that site, that's Kirk (Larrabee). When you see Mr. Bucknuts, that's Lee (Schear). Kirk is a younger guy who likes Bruce Springsteen and Public Enemy albums according to his reviews. Lee is older (sorry Lee, not THAT old of course), and outside of Bucknuts is the founder and (I believe) current president of Cashland, a company he started then later sold (a couple Summers ago) for some $53 (+/-) million. The only 'Public Enemy' he knows is me. Then you toss in Dave Biddle, Duane Long and to a lesser extent, Charles Babb and a couple others, and that's the "Bucknuts Staff" before the addition of Captain Steve and the Bubble Boy Wonder (Housteau). (More joking).

I just read thru all 80+ posts on this thread... it was kinda like riding the Magnum at Cedar Point... from where it started (serious)... and the wild ass ups and downs.. coupled with a number of loops... and hair pin turns...

it was like the debates... throw out the posed question... the postings had lives of their own... covered a lot of disjoint topics along with all the various emotions... plus the experience of seeing Hubs in drag... pretty bizarre ride

C, I had completely forgotten about that look-alike thread until you brought it up. There was some funny shiite on there. Your latest photos are simply hilarious.

edit: I posted a reply to the thread on BN, and two posts later it was deleted. One of the reasons I quit going to BN altogether was because Kirk (or somebody) deleted the entire thread everytime I would post. I guess that's still true. I don't really think what I said was all that bad, but apparently dissension is still not allowed, even if it's only a hint. If anyone cares, this is what I posted...

"Personally, I left BN mostly because I felt the administration was misleading us. When a billion flamers from USC and Miami were always here talking trash, nothing was done. But as soon as a "regular" BN poster said something negative, he was called out, the post was deleted, the thread was locked, etc. Then Mr. Bucknuts posted something to the effect that more things were going to become Premium, but he wanted to keep as much stuff free as possible, and would do everything he could to keep as much as possible free. Shortly thereafter, it seemed that almost every article became premium. Shortly after that, it seemed that the "premium members" were receiving preferential treatment from the admin's here. Some premium newbie would complaint about a long-time, respected posters thoughts, and that post would be deleted.

Now, I haven't been here in quite some time, and it may well be different. I don't even have a problem with all the premium stuff....I mean, people are putting a lot of time and energy into this site, so they should get paid. I just wanted to express my thoughts on why BP evolved originally. I have to say though, I agree with 3yards that both sites can easily thrive. There is no reason for the animosity. Some of the BP posters get sick of all the "Zwick v. Smith" and "What is your favorite color" threads that seem to clog up the boards here, but others can't stand the cocky and cavalier "know-it-all" attitude of BP posters. To each his own. Find your spot, or enjoy both.
