Why Pick THE Ohio State University?

THINK, Before You Speak
Former College Pick'Em Champ
With NLOI signing day approaching, we as Buckeye fans are obviously excited about the prospects that we have on board as well as the very select few that are left out there. Our Coaching staff has, to this point, compiled a class of great football players, but moreso, great young men. To those that have decisions left to make, I guess I'd like to ask, Why Pick Ohio State?

Obviously, the football factor speaks for itself. We offer one of the, if not THE best Football programs in the country. If football is what you're looking for, go check out the rosters of teams in the NFL that are loaded with Buckeye alums. Study the countless All -Americans that we seem to produce, year in and year out. Heisman winners? Got'em. Outland winners? Got'em. Butkus, Nagurski, Thorpe, Lombardi, Biletnikoff winners? Yep, we got'em.

Now, a prospective recruit might say that many elite programs in the country have had multiple major award winners in their history, and he'd be correct. He may want to add that alot of players have left Ohio State before their eligibility was used up to pursue a career in the NFL, and again, he'd be correct. So what exactly is so good about this place?

Okay, I'll admit that I'm stuck now, and really can't answer that question. Am I looking "dum" or what. And I say that because I can't speak for other people. Maybe Mike Doss, Will Smith, or Michael Jenkins can answer that one for you. Okay, I forgot you guys are young, so I'll bring it a little closer to the present, as a matter of fact, the present itself. Maybe you'd like to chat with James Laurinaitis or Malcolm Jenkins. They are the two guys that decided to pass up multi-millions of $$$ to come back and play at Ohio State next year for FREE. Not "FREE-SHOES" like that school down in Florida, just for no pay. Who knows why. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that if a prospect indeed chooses to attend this college and play football that his Coach will sincerely care about that prospect as a person. He'll give you 110% back of what you give to him. That the teammates that players bonded with here will double that back. It's a strong bond, guys. Believe It.

Also, if any of prospective recruits actually frequent this, or any other Buckeye site you'll notice the phrase "Once A Buckeye, Always A Buckeye" thrown about quite a bit. Is that corny or what? Hopefully, in the very near future when someone decides to attend this Great university he'll will find that the phrase is legit, first hand. We talk about the Griffins, Byars, Paces, Georges, Ginns, Smiths, Spielmans, Gradishars, Hicks, Wilkersons, like they were just here yesterday. Kinda weird huh? But to we as Buckeye fans, the names of the players that I just mentioned, as well as the thousands over the years have run out of the tunnel and into the "Shoe" WERE just here yesterday. No, I'm wrong. They were NOT "just here yesterday," because in actuality, they never left.

And They NEVER will.

Peace.

Well put....

How about the 105,000+ screaming die hard fans that pack in the shoe every Saturday to chant your name, the state of the art facilities, being part of the best rivalry in all of sports, National Contenders every year, the Tradition, the education (second to none), the largest University in America, stepping on the same field and the same sideline as WOODY did
PRICELESS!!!!!
