Mac

That's a pain in the buns
So we had to purchase a new laptop about a month or two ago. It came with Windows 8 pre-installed. I have given enough time to try and get used to it. But they made it so difficult to navigate for a laptop. I am so frustrated. I haven't found a way to get into my C:/ without first opening up the Recycle Bin. I haven't found the run command field yet either.

I am hoping someone can answer this. Is there a way to have my windows 8, not look like the default Windows 8, but more like 7? Is there a skin or theme or something I can load/install/etc?

It's making the new laptop purchase (I like the laptop) very frustrating. And I consider myself somewhat of a techie.

Thanks

I used Microsoft Windows for years, once you use a Macbook by Apple, you will never go back.

Unless you like computers that aren't overpriced and then constructed to prevent upgrades, like soldering the ram to the motherboard.

Mac makes great products but their computers are also $600 more than the competition, if not more.

They also have lost their former advantage of being largely virus free due to a small user base. That is no longer true.

I looked at the Macbook line for awhile as a photographer and IT guy, then I realized I didn't like inferior technology at a higher price.

My Black Friday discounted Dell Precision m6600 blows away the Macbooks I was looking at.

Wifey killed my old Tosh while "updating" the bios so I got a new Tosh with Windows 8.(thanks, wifey!)
Toshiba Sat C855-S5350 for $400 after rebate.
This was not a touch screen so obviously it was a pain using the "tiles" so I researched how to reconfigure Windows 8 like Windows 7 which it basically is. Long story short, although the "tiles" are gone I still have some minor "issues" with "charms" popping up but I'll find an answer for those too!
The Tosh Sat C855 is a very fast computer for the money! Has a bright screen and a 650G hard drive. It's a "buy" for so little money!
Windows 8? Meh.
