Game Thread Wisconsin at tOSU, Oct 29th, 8 pm ET, ESPN

I think it stems from the idea that Wisky has always had a game manager/system type QB that were always decent pocket passers but couldn't run a lick. Now they have what is perceived to be a playmaker/mobile QB so the logic is add that dimension to their run game and you have unstoppable offense.

There may be some truth to that but the problem I see with it is the Wisconsin run game is going to have defenses cheating for the run anyway, a mobile QB is nice but how much of a marginal improvement is it? He is still going to have to be able to make teams pay for cheating against the run with his passing ability.

Maybe he can do that but recent history suggests anytime Bucky gets pre season love they spit the bit rather spectacularly.

Bielema takes (veiled) shots at Ohio State
Posted on: July 28, 2011

CHICAGO -- It took until the second coach in the lineup Thursday to start laying down some Ohio State smack at the Big Ten media days. Wisconsin's Bret Bielema took some not-so-veiled shots at the Buckeyes during his time on the podium.

Among the highlights: "If someone willingly and knowingly violates a rule, I don't see anything wrong with a substantial penalty."

Bielema obviously is feeling good about his program, having beaten Ohio State last year and going to the Rose Bowl. Depending on who you read, the Badgers are favored to win the Big Ten Leaders Division over the Bucks and play in the first Big Ten title game.

The only way to deter cheating, he went on to say, "is to get rid of people." "Hammer the guys that don't do things right."

Later, Bielema said "those comments aren't directly made at Ohio State." OK indirectly.

"More of those comments I was referring to recruiting," he added. "When you have people who are knowingly breaking rules or are doing things that aren't over the table, that is very frustrating ... It's very hard to trace. I've been in conversation with the NCAA over the last six months [more than] any other time in the coaching profession. It's very, very upsetting when things don't come down and people aren't hammered the way they should be. "

--"I love to get into a magazine, a newspaper article, internet article to hear about change of other programs," Bielema said. "To me the more you change, the more you have the opportunity to fail. At Wisconsin we're kind of boring, we do the same thing every day. For us it's been very, very successful."

--"We've been knocking on the door at Ohio State a couple years. To finally go through it last year the way he did, there wasn't any question about who won that football game. The only bad part about Terrelle [Pryor] leaving [is] he kind of claimed the week after it was a fluke ... To me, we really wanted to play that game against him. Unfortunately, we won't."

--"There is not a coach in this profession that treated me or helped me better than Jim Tressel. He was a guy who grabbed my hand the first time I walked in a room."

Fuck Bulimia.

Honestly, you beat tOSU at home. Congrats. Even a blind squirrel and so on.

However, saying you've been "very, very successful."? The fuck?

2010: 11-2 (good) 2-2 vs Top 25 (meh) beat OSU by 2 scores in Wusscuntsin, finished the season losing to TCU in the Rose Bowl. A- for that season.
2009: 10-3 (ok) 1-2 vs Top 25 (bad) lost to OSU by 3 scores in C-Bus, finished the season beating Miami. B-/C+
2008: 7-5 (terrible) 1-3 vs Top 25 (bad) lost to OSU by 3 points in Madison. Finished the season by losing to Florida State by 29. F
2007: 9-4 (ok) 0-0 vs Top 25, lost to OSU by 3 scores in C-Bus. Finished the season losing to Tennessee. D

So, '09 and '10 were ok/good seasons. Of course, you only managed to beat Ohio State one of those years, at home. But, you blew your wad in the BCS in '10 and barely beat an overrated Miami team that tOSU wiped the floor with 8 months later.

Since '07, 4 games, 2 home/2 away, Bucky has beaten OSU 1 time. Once.

Win consistently, and we'll talk. Until then, know your place as OSU's bitch, and shut the fuck up.

PS:
This is the same coach who ran the score up on the worst teams in the B1G. Sorry, but whooping on IU, Northwestern and co is really not that impressive. Nor is beating Austin Peay.

The same fucktard that "needed" a card to go for two in a blowout against Minny.

One trait I hope Fickell did not pick up from Tressel is mercy.

I hope Fickell takes what Tressell did to Purdon't to its fullest extent against Wisky and their douchebag of a coach. Go for two at the end of the game in a shut-out. Oh, and then Fickell can tell them that he went for 2 because "the cards" said to go for 3, but they would only let him go for 2.

Tressel never had mercy for a team that beat them in years past...

Purdue and Northwestern were two teams that discovered that.

Tressel had been beating the shit out of Northwestern every year since that 2004 loss. He also gave Iowa, Wisconsin, Penn State, and Purdue major ass thumpings in the next games following losses (see bolded). I've listed conference losses per year, with the result of the next game against that opponent listed beside. Since 2003:

2003:
Wisc 17, OSU 10 (Away) - Wisc 24, OSU 13 (Home)
Mich 35, OSU 21 (Away) - OSU 37, Mich 21 (Home)

2004:
Norw 33, OSU 27 (Away) - OSU 48, Norw 7 (Home)
Wisc 24, OSU 13 (Home) - OSU 38, Wisc 17 (Home, 2007)
Iowa 33, OSU 7 (Away) - OSU 31, Iowa 6 (Home)
Pur 24, OSU 17 (Away) - OSU 23, Pur 7 (Away, 2007)

2005:
PSU 17, OSU 10 (Away) - OSU 28, PSU 6 (Home)

2007:
Ill 28, OSU 21 (Home) - OSU 30, Ill 20 (Away)

2008:
PSU 13, OSU 7 (Home) - OSU 24, PSU 7 (Away)

2009:
Purd 26, OSU 18 (Away) - OSU 49, Purd 0 (Home)

2010:
Wisc 31, OSU 18 (Away) - TBD

If I'm not mistaken, Tressel lost consecutive conference games to only one team: Wisconsin (2003, 2004).
