Wisconsin @ Ohio State, 2/23/17, 9pm, ESPN

This team is totally different when they have a PG who can dribble in traffic, get into the lane and actually score. not saying this will happen every night but it really appears to me that if CJ gets going we aren't too shitty. CJ might be a little more talented than some people realize. he needs to stay aggressive offensively and not pick up cheap fouls on defense.

we beat wisky pretty good and we got nothing out of Thompson. who woulda guessed

Every time Wisky cut the lead to 8 or 9 in the second half, Jackson would hit another trey. It has been a long time since we have had clutch shooting like that.

just read where he shot 45% (on over 200 attempts i believe) from 3 land last year.... so he def can hit 'em.

Interesting quick feature of 4 Ohio boys playing for Wiscy.

"But other than Nigel Hayes, they weren't highly recruited. Wisconsin has done a great job of developing them." - Dakich

What a concept. Developing players.
I do not know if I would of wanted Matta to get any of those four players except maybe for Hayes. You can only develop talent if there is talent to be developed and I do not think that any of the other 3 players that Bucky got from Ohio are worth squat.

the coaches had a great defensive scheme tonight with their doubling on hayes and happ. our players executed almost perfectly. hayes and happ scored only 11 combined points versus their average of 28 on only 11 attempts versus their average of 21.
You are going to get hammered by the rest of the guys in this thread for praising the coaches:wink:

The philosophy has been used for about the last month against Wisky (they are 2-3 in their last 5 games) and isn't anything our coaches dreamt up. We gave up a fair number of good looks from the outside and Wisky hit close to their average. The difference in this game was on the glass and offensive end. We shot well over our season averages from the foul line and three point line, out rebounded them soundly and only committed 9 turnovers. IT was only the second game all year we scored over 80 points.

Hayes for sure, would be a nice upgrade over Loving

though who knows how he would have turned out if he ended up at Ohio State (considering Loving's "development")

I think this was more about Wisconsin in a slump than what tOSU did.
i don't at all agree.

1. no team that wisconsin has faced this season scored more points per possession than ohio state did (1.34 ppp).

2. a slump doesn't explain happ and hayes combining for about half the attempts (11 versus. 21) that they average per game.

3. wisconsin did not shoot poorly. they were 43.5% overall versus their 45.5% season average, 43.3% from 3 versus their 34.8% season average, and 66.7% from the line versus their 66.5% season average.

4. wisconsin had only 7 turnovers.

I think this was more about Wisconsin in a slump than what tOSU did..if the team can build on this I will admit I was wrong but this team disappoints most games.
I guess you are really down on the basketball program. You might want to check out @OSU_Buckguy quote of your message. Koenig did not want to win this game at all so he just scored 27 and I am sure that Hayes did not want to win his last regular-season game against Ohio State.
