When Brennan and quarterback coach Dan Morrison attended the Sammy Baugh Award banquet in Columbus, Ohio, they toured the neighboring Ohio State football facilities. There was a parking lot reserved only for football players. Players and coaches were given key cards to access the facilities. There also was state-of-the-art equipment.

"When we're winning, we get compared to big programs like Ohio State and USC," Brennan said. "I wonder how analysts would look at our achievements if they realize what we have to overcome through facilities, resources and traveling

Haven't seen many comparisons made between UH, USC, and tOSU, but Colt has a point. If UH truly wants to run with the big dogs, the administration will have to ante up. From a Buckeye perspective, those responsible for the planning and "getting it done", deserve a lot of credit.

Columbus- Jim Tressel's ballroom dancing skills are . . . apparently average. When the Ohio State football team christened the redone Woody Hayes Athletic Center earlier this summer with a date night and party, junior linebacker Marcus Freeman claimed Ellen Tressel, the first lady of Buckeye football, eagerly anticipated the call to change dance partners.
"When Mrs. Tressel danced with the players," Freeman said, laughing, "she was a lot happier."
These are the types of off-field insights and wholesome bonding experiences now afforded by the $21.5 million expansion and renovation of the OSU football center. Already a home away from home as the Buckeyes report for the start of preseason camp today, coach Jim Tressel envisions the new Woody as something like a residence.
