World's Dumbest Parents???

Well my dad got an Ass-whoppin P.H.D. from the school of hard knocks!!! My dad said he could put me through college or the wall it was my decision. I have a brother thats a minister, another thats an engineer, and I'm studying to be a OT. I GUESS WHIPPING A LITTLE ASS EVERY NOW AND THEN ISN'T SO BAD.

Paddling worked well with me. About 1 a year kept me in line. My dad used to be a school principal back in the day so he had a lot of practice. He also used to make paddles in his spare time so hopefully he has one left for me when I have kids. On the other hand you could beat the hell out of my brother and he could care less what point you're trying to get across to him.

Right along with the world's dumbest parents, we now the have the world's dumbest court, which wishes to take away the ability of parents to contorl their kids: :shake:
this one (the phone eavesdropping one) is interesting. i used to get in a lot of trouble in high school....mostly for drinking and smoking pot...but i was young and dumb. anyway, my stepdad recorded a number of my conversations and turned them over to my probation officer and i ended up going to jail for 11 days.....

it was interesting though b/c when he borrowed MY boombox to make a copy of the tape when the copying was in progress, i snuck down and ripped the brown tape in the audiotape. it was a total gi joe mission sneaking in their room w/them in the next room. so i thought i was all slick, but hemanaged to salvage the tapes....

As a parent, I don't disagree too much with what the court ruled, and I'm a farily hard-liner on child discipline. The mother really didn't have any business listening to her 17-year-old kid's private conversation. It wasn't like it she just happened to overhear what her daughter said, but rather purposely tapped into the kid's conversation. Neither of my parents would've pulled a stunt like that, and it was 1974 when I was 17 and parents (especially mine) didn't take much shit from their kids back then. So if my parents would've afforded me a degree of privacy in their home, I'd think that today's kids have the same right.
in my home ill do as i damn well please. if you don't like it, don't let door hit you on your way out. i wouldn't want to have to force you to buy me a new door.

this "emotional parenting" crap will be the downfall of this country. noone is to blame for anything they do. noone gets punished for anything they do. anything you do isn't really "your" fault, its because of some -ism.
