wow.. glad im not a marshall fan..

A consensus they will beat us, huh? Uh yeah, OK. I'm glad they think that, because I want to hear what excuses they offer when they don't win here. So they won in Manhattan last season...whooptie-do, Kansas State played their worst game in 5 seasons, and they still barely won. It's never been easy to win at OSU, and it is almost impossible now, despite how close a lot of teams leave thinking they came to doing so. It will probably be close, and I'm sure they'll whine about someting or another for about 50 years thinking they were robbed.

I like your fire Lion, but, no, no, no, no about it being close. We will kick their ass all over the field. Tressel's going to see those green unis and have a YSU flashback and call in the cavalry. He'll even spit his gum out once in a fit of pique.

I would like to share some little known facts about your coach that you may or may not know:

** In 1992, Marshall was leading YSU 28-0 in the 4th quarter of the div 1-AA national championship game. YSU rallied to tie the score 28-28 late in the game. Marshall's Willie Merrick (from central Ohio) booted a game winning field goal in the last seconds of the game to give Marshall a 31-28 win. The very next year, Coach Tressel's YSU team ran the table to go undefeated and win the I-AA NC.

Actually, they didn't run the table in 1993...they went 13-2 that year, beating Marshall 17-5 in their rubber match. The year that they went undefeated while winning the national title was 1994 (14-0-1, tying the first game then winning the next 14).

I always figured most Herd fans were more informed than they appear to actually be (The herd fan from Pickerington aside). It's one thing to beat K-State and get all excited about it (Marshall) and it's quite another to dominate K-State and expect to have won (Ohio State). People talk about Ohio State overlooking Marshall (Not gonna happen, especially when Arden got the speed bag treatment - good move, Marshall) - reading what I've read on this thread, I wonder if Marshall isn't "overlooking" Ohio State. "Hey, we're playing a couple of "national powers" this year, but we'll win Ohio State, so lets focus on Georgia" (Yes, I know that's not how it goes down in the locker room... just saying to the extent that a review of the fan base is a reflection of the team's mindset (there is some correlation, I've found - over the years))

Why, exactly, will Marshall beat OSU, herd fans? Why? Is it because Ohio State has won so many games by 7 or less? Is it because you think OSU was lucky to be 25 - 2 over two years? Just curious.. Spare me the "Hey, we beat K-State and you guys struggled against San Diego State" I want something with some damn teeth... Why... what are OSU's matchup problems with Marshall? What phases of the game is Marshall projected to win, when we compare unit talents.. I'd love to know why you Marshall fans are so confident. Seems to me, to be so confident, your analysis must show that Marshall gets a favorable rating in more than half of the anaylsis. SO, please, tell me how your RB's match up against OSU's LB's. Your O-Line v. OSU's D - Line and so on.... I can only imagine how stacked Marshall is. Please advise.

And, one last thing - one of the most ridiculous things ever which I read above - what nitwit Marshall fans are thinking Joan C Edwards Stadium is more loud than the Shoe? Lets compare:

Joan C Edwards -
1. Named after a chick - Built in 1991
2. Capacity 38,019
3. Biggest home crowd: record crowd of 33,204 (Miami, Oh Oct. 5, 1998)
4. Consecutive times selling more than 100,000 seats: 0
http://www.sfo.com/~csuppes/NCAA/MidAmerica/Marshall/index.htm

Ohio Stadium
1. Not named after a chick - built in 1922
2. capacity 101,568
3. Largest Crowd 105,539 (Michigan, Nov. 23, 2002)
4. Consecutive times selling more than 100,000 seats: 14
http://ohiostatebuckeyes.collegesports.com/facilities/ohiostadium.html

Lets see.... despite a capcity deficit of 63,549 Marshall fans are louder? I suppose you figure Marshall fans scream and cheer 3 times as loud as Ohio State fans? Cause that's what it would take, Ohio Stadium is almost THREE time larger than your beloved Joan C Edwards, and you think Heard games are probably louder? You'll note OSU's largest crowd ever, actually exceeds the stadium's capactiy. Not the case with you Herd fans.. Morons.

Sloopy, I'll agree that Georgia usually does play a pretty easy ooc schedule, but they've played Clemson a lot lately (and as recently as last year). Clemson was top 25 and on the road, so they did play a decent BCS team.

I stand corrected. However, my point remains: there's no reason in the world to jock Georgia over us. OSU has a better program and more talent year in and year out over the 'Dawgs.

I wouldn't bag on the GA chicks too much. I went to the Cocktail party last year, and was pretty impressed with the free agent market. All of the GA chicks dress up in red and black - and a solid majority were good looking blondes. The gator fans on the other hand, they were more of the redneck variety. As for the party itself - I don't think it was any bigger than an OSU home game.
