WR Anthony Gonzalez (2005 All B1G, US Congressman)

Yeah, he dad was really pulling for him to go up north, but I think it was hos grandmother that really wanted him to be a buckeye.

Well Mom/Grandma won again. Mom knows best right.

To Gonzo, that was one hell of a catch you made and you are becoming a buckeye great. You have proven some doubters wrong and you are still underrated, but you proved today how much you mean to us buckeye fans and your team.

Amen. This guy is an incredible number 3 receiver. He is definitely capable of being a number 2 receiver; possibly even a number 1 receiver. He has the speed and the hands. What an amazing receiver.

i was in the endzone closest to the catch the gonzo made in the fourth. believe me, i have never heard the life of a place get sucked out quicker after he made that play and all the gay michigan fans realize they might just lose:biggrin:

what a great feeling!

One of the best Buckeye catches I've seen in 20 years.

Seriously, as great as some of Chris Vance's catches were; I have to harken back to Chris Carter's catch in the Citrus Bowl when JK tried to throw the ball away or maybe Mike Lanese's catch in the '84 scUM game to recall something like this.

In fact, as I type this; Gonzo's catch is eerily reminiscent of ML's catch in '84 in that both were against TSUN and both were on a game-winning fourth quarter drive. ML's catch was on a critical 3rd down though, IIRC.

Anyhoo, Gonzo you are the man.

Tony,

If you are reading this you have been a class act since you committed to our program. Your catch was an understatement of your ability and thank you and the team for bringing home a fantastic victory.

Anthony Gonzalez - great hands.

Since Anthony Gonzalez emerged on the scene of Buckeye Nation in the Scum game of 2004, we have to sit up and take notice. I remember a player by the name of Mike Lanese( 83') and so does Tressel. This kid could catch anything within range. Tomczak did not throw as hard as Troy Smith and some of his passes were abit wayward but Mike Lanese sure made him look good.

He had the softest hands. He made an amazing catch in the 83 game at Michigan. And when Gonzalez made that great catch last week it made me think of Mike Lanese and his efforts. Mike and Gonzalez have some thing in commen. Both are from the city of Cleveland and both carried an academic record of 4.0. Don't think for one minute that Jim Tressel didn't know that.

I would not be surprised if someday Gonzalez turns out to be an offensive captain for Ohio State in a couple of years. All i know is that he sure has a great knack for catching a BB in the dark. Good luck to ya Gonzo.
