WR Binjimen Victor (Birmingham Stallions)

That was the type of catch that can make an offense go from good to great. If he can make those plays against upper echelon teams, this offense will be dangerous. Just imagine ground and pound with JK and Mike, stressing the backers with Parris, Dixon, and Hill from sideline to sideline, and then going deep to Victor. That'll keep a defense honest

B1G TELECONFERENCE: RIGHT GUARD JOB “WIDE OPEN,” PRAISE FOR BINJIMEN VICTOR AND MORE

"We are not even scratching the surface of his ability level," Meyer said of sophomore wide receiver Binjimen Victor. Put him in the same breath as Cris Carter and Michael Thomas in terms of his ability to high-point the football.

OHIO STATE'S BINJIMEN VICTOR COULD BE NEXT BUCKEYE GREAT IF HE CONTINUES TO PROGRESS

There are few players in Ohio State's locker room right now that are trending upward faster than Binjimen Victor.

The sophomore wide receiver has seen his targets go up in almost every game this season, as he has caught a touchdown pass in three straight games for the Buckeyes, putting his career total at five through 11 games played.

His emergence has not been lost on many, especially Ohio State coach Urban Meyer, who said on Tuesday's Big Ten coaches' teleconference that Victor's ability to high-point a football rivals that of former Buckeye greats.

"I have not had many like that. I remember Cris Carter years and years ago, and Mike Thomas was good at going up and getting the ball," Meyer said. "But this guy has just sheer size and wingspan and has great ball skills."

Victor's strength thus far in his career has been in the red zone. All five of his touchdowns have come at or inside of 25 yards, four of which have been of the jump-ball variety.

Football: Wide receiver Binjimen Victor’s size and maturity making the difference in sophomore campaign

IMG_4289-1vhuoa9-530x353.jpg

Over the past two games, no Ohio State wide receiver has demonstrated as much potential as sophomore wideout Binjimen Victor.

With six catches for 124 yards and a pair of touchdowns, Victor is quickly showing why coaches have praised the 6-foot-4 wideout, as demonstrated Tuesday afternoon by head coach Urban Meyer’s comparison between Victor and former Ohio State wideouts Michael Thomas and Cris Carter.

Though he got off to a slow start to the year, Victor has shown why the Thomas and Carter comparisons are warranted as he has now added the weight needed to fulfill the various responsibilities of a wide receiver in Meyer’s offense, while also putting on display his ability to make leaping, athletic catches over cornerbacks and serve as a red-zone target for quarterback J.T. Barrett.

Barrett, who has been the starting quarterback during both the tenures of Thomas and Victor, said Victor has something Thomas lacked: early opportunity.

After both were used sparingly as freshmen, Thomas redshirted his second season in Columbus whereas Victor is listed as a starter and has begun to flourish.

Though Victor is still far from being the true No. 1 wideout Thomas developed into, Barrett said he believes Victor has that potential if he continues to develop physically.

“He’s a taller guy and [strength and conditioning coach Mickey Marotti has] been pushing him in the weight room,” Barrett said. “So make sure he’s physical in that aspect. But I think he’s coming along well.”

Love seeing Victor's emergence, he is the one guy on our offense that brings a whole new dynamic and skill-set than what we currently have on our roster. Don't get me wrong, we have a lot of talent on the field...but Victor just brings a new element to our offense. Exciting to see him start scratching the potential I saw from his film in HS.

Moss was a legit burner. Victor has adequate speed but Moss was a freak. You should go and watch some Moss highlights on youtube. He made NFL DB's look like they were linebackers
I remember, and I should have been more clear-its more of his stride looking like Moss. In no way am I a fan of the hyperbole, "RB X is like Barry Sanders" kind of thing.

Definitely also if he makes it to about 210 next year without losing any athleticism look out.

I hope he can because everytime he's tackled I fear the DB is going to snap him in half. From 165 to 190 and he still looks rail thin and malnourished.

Also don't envy where Bin is right now, because I was there once ... if I even smelled chicken or fish I was gonna vomit. Eating protein sounds cool, until you eat it five meals a day for three years.

Shakes help a lot. Easy to just chug them to get those calories in
