WR Brian Robiskie (Official Thread)

I feel the same way, WR is not a position of need, but the kid is a player, hate to see one get away.
It's not to late, I could see an offer coming still. If his dad were to return to the Browns next year, which is not likely, he might be interested in the Bucks if offered.

There's this guy who scouts Ohio High School Football but I forget his name. He's not talked about much and no I'm not talking about BK, D.Long or any the internet guys. I've read that Ohio State buys his talent evaluations, so I wonder how much those evaluations factor with guys like Robiskie who don't get offers.

Well- Word on the street is that his dad will have a job in C-Town next year... so... whatever that's worth.

Maybe this is the "late Surprise" as someone asked about earlier.

Hey- if you're going to reach... And I'm not really calling Brian a reach considering his offer list.. so let's say, throw a last minute shot in the dark...

Do it on a Coach's kid, I say.

i just read his last rivals update. granted it was from a miami writer, but it sounded like he was signed, sealed, and delivered to miami. Coker was supposed to come up this week for an in-home to speak with his mom.

it would be funny to watch miami fans throw a bitch-fit if osu sneaks in with a late offer and gets him. I'm sure we'll here how they didnt want him anyway.

especially if that coach is an offensive coordinator. of course if he is an OC that was only able to manage 26 yards of total offense in a game this past season, that must be considered.

but i digress, he has offers from osu, psu, miami, florida, and stanford, and he was 1st team all state. for some reason, there was just little talk about him.

JT and Tucker stopped by Chagrin Falls yesterday...he is supposed to visit this weekend and then make a decision.

EXCLUSIVE: UM Closing On WR Commitment

Rivals Premium

Brian and his father called the UM visit "excellent".

He said there was a good possibility that he wouldn't take another visit and that he wanted to discuss things with his mother. The Miami coaches are supposed to come up this week to meet with Brian and his family. Coker talked to him about starting in May. He said he planned on announcing within the next few days.

This update was done yesterday...prior to the Buckeye offer. That's what makes everything in this article so fun to read. Despite him being "sold" on Miami, he did not commit and is now going to visit OSU. I think this bodes well for the Buckeyes. He has patiently been waiting on an offer, unlike some other Ohio kids. I get the feeling his parents would rather him in Columbus over Coral Gables.

Not to hijack this thread, but does this point to Albert Dukes not returning to tOSU or just that we have open schollies this year and want to fill them with a guy who has has little fanfare from this neck of the woods?

It appears that we have stayed in touch with Brian this whole time...I get the feeling that maybe OSU had not offered previously knowing that if Terry ended up elsewhere next year, Brian was unlikely to stay in Ohio. Now that Terry will probably be remaining in Cleveland, the coaches are offering. Just from looking back on Rivals, it seems we have been in contact the whole time...

12/3/04 - "See if I could get down to Ohio State for a visit."

11/11/04 - "I might go to the big Ohio State-Michigan game."

10/22/04 - "I'm still talking to Ohio State."

10/11/04 - "Ohio State has come here and they’re close to offering." (Coach Iammarino)

9/12/04 - "I like Ohio State. Coach Tucker from Ohio State called."

Good question...I think it has more to do with Terry staying in Ohio and OSU having several schollies available. Keep in mind Duane Long has compared Brian to Javon Walker...
