Brian Robiskie and Terry Robiskie enjoyed their first game together, a Falcons victory.

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. -- If there was one thing Terry Robiskie always preached to his oldest son, Brian, it was not to worry about being pretty.

The advice had nothing to do with time spent in front of mirror or inside a high-end department store. It had everything to do with the manner in which the elder Robiskie, the Atlanta Falcons' assistant head coach, viewed the change in attitude for wide receivers over the years.

"These guys coming out of college now, they're always trying to worry about how they look," said Terry Robiskie, who works with the Falcons' receivers. "They always have their gloves on. They have their high stockings. Some of them have the white sleeves on. And when they run their routes, they run them to be pretty.

"I'm not concerned with you looking pretty. I'm concerned with you playing fast and making a play. I don't care how dirty and ugly and bad you look. But do it fast, and go make a play."

Falcons activate OT Terren Jones, waive WR Brian Robiskie
By D. Orlando Ledbetter

FLOWERY BRANCH – The Falcons, turning over every stone to improve their offensive line, moved tackle Terren Jones from the practice squad to the 53-man active roster Tuesday.

To make room from Jones the Falcons waived wide receiver Brian Robiskie.

Jones, 6-foot-7, 341 pounds, was signed as a college free agent following the 2013 NFL draft. He was a three-time All-SWAC performer and an AFCA All-American following his senior season at Alabama State.

Robiskie, 6-4, 212 pounds, was originally selected by the Cleveland Browns in the second round (36th overall) of the 2009 NFL Draft out of The Ohio State University. He was signed by the Falcons as a free agent on October 10, 2013.

Robiskie’s father, Terry, is the Falcons’ assistant head coach/wide receivers.

SKULL SESSION: CHASE YOUNG UPDATE COMING THIS WEEK, CJ SAUNDERS WILL SEEK A MEDICAL REDSHIRT AND TROY SMITH HAD UNIQUE MOTIVATION FOR BRIAN ROBISKIE

TROY TELLS HOW IT IS.
Troy Smith was an absolute legend on the field, but it turns out he was pretty legendary in the huddle as well.

Ohio State's most recent Heisman winner sat down with ESPN to tell a quick story about some unique motivational tactics that he used to get then-freshman receiver Brian Robiskie to stay on his damn feet after making a catch.

TL;DR, he told him he sucked.

From Troy Smith, via and ESPN video:

"In 2006, Brian Robiskie and I would get into it a lot, because he would make tremendous catches, but every time he caught the ball he would just get tackled. And at that time, I had a different way of motivating him.

I immediately rolled my eyes at him. I looked at him and he's like 'What?' and I'm like 'You know what? Just get the f*** out of the game.' He's PISSED at me.

But now, as he catches this ball, he makes a guy miss, does his thing, spins a little bit and then runs probably about 18 to 20 yards. The crowd's going crazy.

I'm trying to get the play and as I'm looking over to Tress', here comes this 6-4, lightskinned kid and he's like Tasmanian Devil, he's like spittin' 'Did you see that, motherf*****? You think that's a run after catch? Now should I get out of the game?'

And you know what? We ready now."

Hey, the results speak for themselves. I guess there's more to being a quarterback than setting passing records.
