WR Corey Smith (Official Thread)

While I suspect OSU wants another big WR in next year's class (ala Dorial Green-Beckham), I would not be surprised to see Smith eventually offered if OSU takes two. Hard to project things given the tight numbers we are expecting OSU to have for the 2012 class.

Personally, I like Monty Maderis as the top WR in state for 2012. He's a little bigger than Smith at 6'2, and he's putting up great numbers so far against great competition.

Definitely like Monty as well...he'll have his own thread before long...watched some of Tres Barksdale against Parma on TV as well. And the guys at UC really seem to like Cameron Wilson.

Also keep an eye on Middletown's Zach Edwards, Fairborn's Davon Hamilton, Garfield Heights' Jeremy Graves, and Boardman's Dayne Hammond.

Smith is probably the best of this group and the ones wade mentioned, but that could change.

Do we even have a shot at Beckham?

Corey Smith (Akron, Ohio/Buchtel)
He is having a fine junior season. After four games, Smith has 15 receptions for 363 yards and three touchdowns. Scholarship offers are starting to roll in for the 6-0, 175-pound athlete.

"I have offers from North Carolina, Michigan State, Akron, Toledo and Miami (Ohio)," Smith said. "The schools that I'm most interested in hearing from are Ohio State, North Carolina, Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State, Tennessee, LSU, Notre Dame, Oregon and Clemson."
