WR Corey Smith (Official Thread)

So the WR with the cast on his hand and a 12.7 ypc for his career is our best hope for a big play deep threat?

Hahaha I'm just picturing it now...

Fake read option JT goes back and surveys the field then spots a wide open Corey Smith. He goes deep for Corey! DOINK

On the surface I have seen better plans but who knows? Maybe he'll kick in one of those magic 6-7 game senior season runs.

I sure as fuck hope so.

Colin Ferrells face pretty much sums up the range of emotions I have on this one....holy shit are you serious?....ok, well I trust you coach.......oh man, this is gonna suck...you sure?

Wide receiver Corey Smith suffered a broken wrist in the Oklahoma win in Week 2 and underwent surgery last week to have a pin removed, forcing him to miss the MSU game. Meyer stated that Smith “might play” this weekend, although a decision likely won’t be made until closer to game time.

Smith has tried to play through the injury, wearing a cast that has helped limit him to four receptions on the season. If he takes the field against the Wolverines, the 6-1, 190-pound senior will do so sans cast.

Corey makes some noise in the playoffs.

You heard it here first.

I hope so.....kid was so highly regarded by Herman and especially Meyer in 2014. They legitimately thought he was the best receiver in the roster....that included Devin Smith and Michael Thomas.

Not sure if it's the big stage and lights but he just never performed, when healthy, the way he performs in practice. That damn Va Tech game really shook him IMO. Then the fumble against Oregon....

The shitty thing is, even when Corey struggles, he has zero difficulty getting open. It's always been drops and fumbles...the talent jumps off the screen though. He has the ability.....

Would love for Corey to go out with a bang....not sure how healthy he is, but if the cast is off, and he's healthy, I agree he could be a secret weapon. Would be amazing if Corey, flying completely under the radar, shocked the hell out of Clemson. I'll tell everyone right now, he's by far our best route runner....could be the long awaited coming out party....
