WR Devon Lyons (official thread)

LS, no way you make TG your first move to shore up the DBs at this point in the season with the results he has had. Lyons was no slouch in hs and isn't going to see much PT on offense in the next two games.

I'm sure this is in case of an injury to the starters... I doubt Lyons will play saftey unless another one of our guys goes down...

No Whittner or Salley against a spread attack... I now know why vegas is picking Purdue... I hope our backups have a huge game!!!

Everett and Mitchell have been doing a fine job for Whitner and Salley. I actually like Everett more than Whitner. I would rather have Salley, but I cant complain about the injury bug this year at tOSU. Hopefully Fox and Youbouty can shut down the sidelines, and make Orton throw to someone besides Stubblefield.

I know this is a little off subject, but is Sirjo planning on going out for the basketball team? I watched him play in the state semi-finals and finals a couple years and he is one hell of a guard. Back on the subject, EJ's younger brother had been getting alot of time as a nickle back, he could be another possibility this Saturday.

Sorry, I am a little drunk, maybe its Shaun Lane that has been getting a little playing time. Or maybe I have no idea what im talking about right now. LOL.

first off, cheers.

as for the hoops, i have no idea.

as for the underwood/lane PT thing, i think you are confusing the underwood brothers. ej changed his number from 2 to 29. when i first saw him with the new number i also assumed that he the little brother.

height

There have been a few times this year (especially UW) where taller receivers have been taking advantage of our secondary, so moving Lyons - who is both tall and a receiver - should help shore up that weakness. Purdue is a pass-happy team and would probably exploit that matchup (tall vs. short) all day.

This also gets another player more prepared in case UM tries a similar approach with Braylon.

I have seen Devon Lyons several times when he played at Woodland Hills(Pittsburgh/Bradock PA area) and I do not care where he plays but he needs to be on the field. I think he is very over-looked he is a tremendous athlete and I do not think I am shooting my mouth here at all, but he could be every bit as versitle as Gamble. Having said that, do I expect him to have the type of impact this year or in the Purdue game, but the kid is just a pure athlete. Even coach Hazzel has said we have to find a way to get him on the field...

I think his calling is as a WR but who knows.. With depth it is a good idea to get him back there..
