WR Devon Lyons (official thread)

Which probably gives us an edge in the Wes Lyons recruiting.
I guess I have to be happy with that.
But, like one of the coaches said, "Gotta get that kid, Devon, on the field!"
Means he's probably one of the most talented kids in the program.

Well, obviously Devon Lyons is back at WR and making great strides, according to the depth chart today. I would love for him to be our #4 reciever this year and get a ton of playing time.

We could use a 6' 4" 225 lb reciever as it will create a lot of mismatches. Pluse with Hall gone next year, and TG2 possibly flying the coop, we need a number of guys to step up this year.

Here's hoping Devon has a breakout year!!

I'll second that. I liked what I saw a couple of years ago when he was getting a bit of PT as a Freshman I believe. I like that he was willing to switch positions when the coaching staff saw more of a need / opportunity @ safety and then vice versa when he came back to WR. Without really knowing a whole lot about the kid, I just find myself liking him and hoping he puts togethera nice season and helps the team this year.

I think it was Lyons (maybe, maybe not) that I read an article about him choosing OSU and how he became a Buckeye fan. And he told a story that as a young boy he and a friend / cousin would always pretend to be playing in 'the big game', and that game was Big Ten Football...Ohio State vs. Michigan. I might even remember reading that his friend / cousin actually did end up going to scUM (but maybe I'm remembering that just because it would make the story that much more cool). Anyone else read that story, probably in BuckNuts Mag., or BSB...don't know.

Anyway, if it was him, that's probably why I really like him.

Good luck Devon, glad to see you 'on the radar'. :osu:

Yeah, there have been a number of rumors circulating about Devon Lyons and Albert Dukes for a little while now. I guess this may be amongst the first hard evidence that Devon may be on his way out.

Once a Buckeye, always a Buckeye whether he leaves or not! I wish Devon all the very best!

Damned shame about his dad - but, it would smooth the path for an easy transit onto the 'Eer squad if that is his choosing. Now that Renaud has elected to go pro they have a glaring gap on the WVU roster for a speedy big receiver.

Wherever Devon ends up he will always first have been a Buckeye, hope this all works out to his best advantage.

Very good athlete, career has been riddled with injuries and competing with some serious talent at WR & S, from which he has switched back and forth a number of times.

Nice that JT & staff are working with him to get it done...

Lyons Sr., told West Virginia Sports Report Wednesday morning that Ohio State head coach Jim Tressel, assistant head coach Darrell Hazell, and Stewart were working to make the connection.
