WR Jameson Williams (transfer to Alabama, Detroit Lions)

So wait he think Flemimg is next? Who cares about William's he's gone.

Something tells me he would probably know a little about how these kids are thinking. Not great but honestly I'd understand it.

I was very disappointed last year for the fact that we did not rotate as we had in prior years. It was #2 and #5 all year which can't happen when we have 3 rotations we can use.

Whatever this is I hope Hart is really hammering home that this year everyone rotates.
I read that a pro scout who was evaluating Justin Fields at his pro day made some interesting comments. Basically said Olave and Garrett Wilson are legit first round picks. Great route runners and the ball just sticks to their hands.

He went on to say that Jameson would be a late round pick. He’s a project. Great speed, and that’s all he could really say good about him. Said that his routes are sloppy. You can tell he has always relied on speed, which doesn’t work in the NFL. And he doesn’t catch anything naturally. It looks like he has to work to catch the ball.

So with all that said, it’s no surprise that it was mostly #2 and #5 all year. JSN and Fleming should be much further along this year. Not to mention, the return of Ruckert will be huge. Not saying he’ll have 5 catches per game. But defenses will have to respect him.

COVID throwing a wrench in everything and eliminating a lot of the normal preseason activities probably had a lot to do with lack of rotation last year.

Just sayin': You don't just automatically rotate QBs just because you have 3 that are pretty good. You want the best one out there on the field that will provide the team the best chance of winning, etc. Now as far as WRs go (until the game has been decided) you want the best ones getting the majority of the snaps. You can and should rotate some others into the game to give the starters a breather and/or the backups meaningful/significant game experience; however, when the game is on the line you definitely want your absolute best players on the field. Overall, the WR1s should get more snaps than the WR2s, and the WR2s should get more snaps then the WR3s, etc.

Oh no doubt when the game matters you want your best in there and WR is different than QB in that you need to more than 1. I personally thought we played 2 and 5 way too much last year. Yes they're great but what's the point of recruiting other greats if they aren't going to see the field because they're slightly behind our best two?

Freaking blew it with this kid... I love Olave and Wilson but we should've been able to keep this guy as a #3.

If we were splitting his reps with JSN then we fucked up.

I realize we don't see practice but give me this kids speed in the slot all day at the expense of some blocking.

IMO we mishandled this enormously.

I, for one, am shocked that you are viewing this situation in a negative light.

There's no way we should've lost this guy... he was our #3 last year and I have no idea what happened this year but he shouldn't have gone.

We had him all spring too so it's not like he wasn't here most of the year.

I don't know what the story is obviously but IMO we mishandled this guy. Not saying Hartline sucks at all just saying it's a mistake not doing what we could to accommodate this guy.
